POSITION: Finance Officer

Purpose Statement

  • Offer assistance and help in creating systems for the efficient operation of the Finance / Accounts Division.
  • Supply the Finance Supervisor and Manager with current financial data. Main Outputs
  • Create bank reconciliation statements.
  • Compilation of aging analysis for the Monday operational gatherings.
  • Aiding in the creation of management accounts as needed.
  • Complete the paperwork for the unit.
  • Digitally refresh petty cash.
  • Process payments.
  • Create receipts.
  • Aiding in Budget Formulation.
  • Aiding in the calculation of wages and salaries.
  • Preparation of weekly aging analysis.
  • Document all banking activities (deposits & withdrawals).
  • Processing of payment and additional vouchers.
  • Create and submit all journal vouchers.
  • Make sure that appropriate accounting protocols are adhered to and help in compiling weekly and monthly reports.
  • Oversee debtor inventory and support credit management and debt collection.
  • Any additional related tasks that might be assigned occasionally.

Skills or Experience Needed

Minimum Requirements/ Background

  • A strong First University Degree or an equivalent qualification along with a Professional Certificate in Accounting, ideally ACCA, ICAG, or an equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of relevant work experience (Post N.S.S) in finance, including a minimum of 1 year in a comparable position.
  • Continuous professional certifications required. Expertise/Abilities:
  • Strong understanding of different accounting software.
  • Acquainted with the audit and legal obligations.
  • Proficient in computer applications and familiar with MS Office, especially MS Excel. Character Attributes:
  • Capacity to perform under stress and achieve deadlines.
  • Understanding of suitable internal controls.
  • Should be diligent.
  • Skills in analytical problem-solving
  • Clarity, truthfulness, and trustworthiness
  • Positive interpersonal relationships and leadership skills
  • Should possess strong interpersonal abilities.
  • Should be confident.
