POSITION: Supply Chain Manager

Job Summary

In alignment with our growth strategy, this role is intended to coordinate and oversee our Shea procurement, tolling, and logistics in West Africa, reporting to the Supply Chain Manager and engaging actively in reaching our business objectives. The role will be instrumental in expanding our presence in the area while enhancing existing relationships with Shea suppliers and partners, closely tied to our sustainability initiative known as “Where Life Grows.”

Position Requirements

  • Engage in Shea procurement by evaluating Shea crop predictions, negotiating purchase agreements, and overseeing contract implementation.
  • Oversee large-scale tolling operations for his region.
  • Evaluate, strategize, and implement logistical operations in the area (storage, transportation by land and sea).
  • Execute, oversee, and enhance quality and food safety standards as established with local (tolling) partners.
  • Accountable for ensuring precise and prompt inventory reporting.
  • Collaborate with partners to execute the BLC sustainability plan.
  • Observe and document the changes in the Shea environment.
  • Monitor and suggest enhancements to the supply chain.
  • Lead his team effectively while fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.

Qualification and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, purchasing, or food science
  • Experience in agro-commodities and/or food processing is essential.
  • Willing to travel frequently within the area
  • Strong understanding of technical procedures and principles of quality and food safety.
  • Recognizes the economic significance of the supply chain
  • Capable of working alone, yet possesses excellent collaborative skills.
  • Capability to interact with experts and upper management.
  • An enthusiasm for Africa
  • Extremely expressive, persuasive and impactful.
  • Proactive approach and an independent initiate.
  • Innovative and practical
  • Vibrant and passionate
  • Strong language abilities in English and French (both spoken and written)
