Landlord reportedly shoots tenant’s children over vacation notice in Kumasi

Bremang Police Command for shooting the children of his tenant over rent allowance at Bremang UGC in the Suame Municipality of Ashanti Region.

The 72-year-old landlord shot the victims who are 4 and 7 years old as they’re currently receiving treatment at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital.

Reports by an eyewitness suggest that the tenant whose children were shot by the landlord was also hit by a hammer while trying to seize the gun from the landlord.

The eyewitness identified as Oheneba Kwabena Gyebi indicated that the suspect is known as ‘I See You’ as he claims he warned the tenant to vacate from his house since he’s not ready to renew the tenancy agreement.

According to him, he went to the house on Monday to question him about why he’s still in the house after several ultimatums for him to vacate the house.

This led to a heated argument between the tenant and the landlord and as the landlord’s temper went up he pulled a gun and released the trigger to hit the tenant’s children and was rushed to the hospital.

Bystanders however managed to seize the gun and prevented him from escaping after he attempted then lodge an official complaint with the gun at Bremang Police Station.

Children are currently on admission receiving treatment at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and the tenant himself has been treated and discharged.
