Kuami Eugene has recently revealed that even before hitting the spotlight in music, he had always prepared ahead.
He shared this in an interview with DJ Advicer on the Ayekoo After Drive Show on Happy FM.
According to the “Open Gate” hitmaker, he already had most of his songs on a pen drive before Richie signed him to Lynx Entertainment. He also stated that he already had the chorus of most of the songs he is featured on so anytime a project comes, he just goes through his chorus and pick one that fits into the song.
He said that he was able to do it because when he was younger, he used to sleep in his mother’s kitchen at times and usually at dawn, that was where he used to write songs and make beats there. “When I was younger, I used to sleep in my mother’s kitchen because my room was close to the kitchen. I’ll wake up at dawn to write songs and make beats there” he said.
When asked about his rise to fame in the industry and his advice to the up and coming artistes, he stated that he is who he is because of hard work and the way he prepares himself for every opportunity that comes his way.
He cited some examples during his interview and then advised that musicians prepare for every opportunity that comes their way.
He made it known that the reason why almost everyone from the young to old is able to relate to his music is that he targets his audience and puts in the work. “When everyone is sleeping, I am busily working”.
Kuami Eugene is currently promoting his new album titled “Son of Africa” which he wishes to be a piece that will carry the whole of Africa.
