POSITION: IT Officer

Solidarity for Humanity International (SOHI) is a caring social entity striving to create lasting change for impoverished communities in various rural African nations.
SOHI aims to encourage the efficient and effective utilization of resources for sustainable development, specifically to safeguard families and communities facing discrimination and exclusion in our societies.
Duties
- Oversee and sustain the organization’s IT networks and systems.
- Monitor and frequently refresh the organization’s website.
- Oversee social media profiles and produce captivating online content.
- Offer technical assistance to personnel and resolve IT problems.
- Create multimedia materials to enhance communications.
- Develop straightforward animations for marketing initiatives and digital narratives.
- Serve as the initial point of contact for IT support for all employees.
- Setting up and adjusting computer hardware, operating systems, and applications.
- Helping employees or customers to establish systems or address problems.
- Address technical problems for solutions and/or refer to the supplier or partner organizations as necessary.
- Record all incidents and service requests in the specified Helpdesk system.
- Oversee Helpdesk organization and prioritize tasks methodically to reduce backlog and maintain operational effectiveness.
- Maintain high standards of system and data security, ensuring the integrity of the network remains intact.
- Accelerate the fixing of hardware issues and software setup complications, informing or sending to the appropriate vendors promptly.
- Oversee system performance, making sure that issues are properly escalated and addressed
- Offer technical support to project teams and assume technical project roles as needed; aiding in the implementation of new applications and solutions.
- Show dedication to and encourage a culture of outstanding service and continuous enhancement within the IT team.
- Foster and enhance strong partnerships with essential suppliers, engaging in interactions professionally and suitably.
- Support the continuous enhancement of associated company policies and procedures, including suitable controls concerning organizational change management.
Required Qualification or Experience
- Certificate or Qualification in IT, Computer Science, or a related area.
- Deep understanding of social media administration and website upkeep.
- At least 1 year of experience in a comparable position.
