POSITION: Shift Engineer

Your Mission: Lead the Shift, Own the Output
As the Shift Engineer, you will not just watch dials. Instead, you will command the entire production unit during your shift. You will coordinate people, monitor processes, and solve problems before they halt production. Ultimately, you will ensure that every drop of product meets the high-quality standards Kasapreko is known for.
Here is exactly what you will take ownership of:
- Command the Controls: You will monitor and control the operation of the Rectification Unit. Working through your shift staff, you will ensure full utilization of every resource at your disposal.
- Bridge the Gaps: You will coordinate between different sections of the unit. Whenever a problem arises, you will step in to connect the dots and find a solution fast.
- Protect the Quality: You will maintain the optimum process parameters set by management. As a result, you will keep production steady and quality consistently high.
- Track the Inputs: You will maintain accurate records of raw material consumption. Moreover, you will control the use of chemicals and actively work to minimize wastage.
- Champion Safety: You will make every effort to maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment. Safety will not be an afterthought; it will be your first thought.
- Close the Loop: You will keep management informed about any problems you encounter. Additionally, you will provide routine feedback to ensure the bigger picture stays clear.
- Lead the People: You will oversee your staff, providing direction and troubleshooting issues as they arise.
- Guard the Quality Chain: You will monitor product quality from the moment raw materials arrive until finished goods leave the line.
- Plan the Stops: You will plan for routine and annual shutdowns. When the plant needs to pause, you will ensure the downtime is productive.
- Supervise the Fixes: You will supervise all maintenance jobs during your shift. Consequently, you will issue maintenance slips and safety permits strictly according to procedure.
- Coordinate Services: You will liaise with Mechanical, Electrical, Instruments, and Utilities departments. Together, you will achieve repair objectives and keep the plant humming.
- Partner with the Lab: Finally, you will monitor and regulate all process parameters in close liaison with the Quality Control Lab. This partnership ensures the product meets spec every single time.
Skills and Qualifications
Kasapreko needs an engineer who combines technical depth with leadership muscle. You will not work in isolation; you will drive a team. Therefore, you need both hard skills and soft skills.
Your Qualifications:
- Degree: A Degree in Chemical Engineering or a directly related field.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years working in a Chemical Manufacturing or Industrial Unit. You have seen the floor and you understand the pace.
- Technical Depth: You have sound knowledge of process plant equipment. Specifically, you can operate different types of pumps, cooling towers, boilers, and distillation columns.
- Control Systems: You possess sound knowledge of plant operation through DCS or PLC systems. Moreover, you have worked on them previously and can navigate them with ease.
Your Attributes:
- Communication: You possess effective communication and report writing skills. You can document issues clearly and update management without confusion.
- Team Leadership: You have excellent interpersonal skills. You can work with and manage a team of diverse backgrounds, earning respect through competence.
- Independence: You can work independently when required. You do not need constant supervision to get the job done.
- Tech Savvy: You have working knowledge of MS Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.
