POSITION: Human Resources Business Partner
Job Summary
The Design and Technology Institute (DTI) is not just an educational institution. We are a community dedicated to excellence, innovation, and the development of future-ready professionals. Consequently, we are looking for a strategic and experienced Human Resources Business Partner to collaborate with departments and leadership in aligning HR initiatives with our institutional goals.
This is not a back-office HR role. You will sit at the table with department heads and leaders. Also, you will support recruitment, onboarding, and manpower planning. You will facilitate performance management and advise managers on employee relations. Your expertise in Ghana Labour Law and HR best practices will guide the institution through complex people challenges. If you have at least six years of generalist HR experience and a passion for building high-performing teams, we want to meet you.
Responsibilities
As our Human Resources Business Partner, you will bridge the gap between institutional strategy and people initiatives. You will partner with departments to understand their unique needs and ensure HR supports their success. You will strengthen employee engagement, develop talent, and foster a culture of high performance. Your work will directly impact the quality of education and innovation at DTI.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Strategic HR Partnership
- Partner with Departments: You will collaborate with leaders across the institution to align HR initiatives with departmental and institutional strategy. You will understand their goals and help them achieve them through effective people management.
- Support Manpower Planning: You will work with leaders to forecast workforce needs and plan for future talent requirements. You will ensure the right people are in the right roles at the right time.
- Advise on Labour Law Compliance: You will provide expert guidance on Ghana Labour Law to managers and leaders. You will protect the institution from legal risks while ensuring fair treatment of employees.
Talent Acquisition & Onboarding
- Lead Recruitment Processes: You will manage the end-to-end recruitment cycle for various positions. You will attract, assess, and select candidates who align with DTI’s values and mission.
- Design Onboarding Experiences: You will create welcoming and effective onboarding programs that integrate new hires into the DTI community. You will set them up for success from day one.
- Support Manpower Planning: You will work with leaders to forecast workforce needs and plan for future talent requirements.
Performance Management & Employee Relations
- Facilitate Performance Management: You will guide the performance management cycle, ensuring employees receive clear feedback and development opportunities. You will help managers have effective performance conversations.
- Advise on Employee Relations: You will serve as a trusted advisor to managers on employee relations matters. You will help resolve conflicts, address concerns, and maintain a positive work environment.
- Strengthen Employee Engagement: You will identify opportunities to boost morale and engagement across the institution. You will contribute to a culture where people feel valued and motivated.
Talent Development & Culture
- Support Talent Development: You will identify skill gaps and development needs across departments. You will work with leaders to create learning and growth opportunities for employees.
- Promote Institutional Values: You will champion DTI’s values and ensure they are embedded in HR processes and everyday behaviors. You will help build a strong, positive organizational culture.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: You will review HR processes and identify opportunities to make them more effective and efficient. You will bring fresh ideas to the team.
The Ideal Candidate Profile
We are looking for a seasoned HR generalist with a strategic mindset and a collaborative approach. You have moved beyond transactional HR and are ready to operate as a true business partner.
To excel in this role, you will need:
Qualifications & Experience
- A First Degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in a generalist HR role with demonstrated business partnering exposure. You have worked across the full HR spectrum.
- Professional HR certification such as CIPD, SHRM, or IHRMP is a significant advantage and will set you apart.
- Strong, working knowledge of Ghana Labour Law and its practical application in the workplace.
- Deep understanding of HR best practices across recruitment, performance management, employee relations, and talent development.
