POSITION: Clearing Officer
Kasapreko Company Limited is seeking a Clearing Officer to join our team in Accra, with primary focus on Tema port operations. Your Mission
You will report directly to the Clearing Supervisor, supporting the execution of customs clearance and port operations for imports and exports. Your role includes preparing and verifying customs documentation, coordinating with clearing agents and shipping lines, tracking shipments from arrival to final delivery, and resolving customs related issues. Ensuring compliance with Ghana Customs regulations, maintaining accurate records, and supporting audits will be central to your success.

Your role spans documentation, coordination, tracking, compliance, reporting, and continuous learning. Here is what you will tackle:
Documentation & Verification
- You will prepare, process, and verify all customs documentation required for import and export clearance, including invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, permits, and certificates.
- Maintaining accurate, up to date records of all clearance transactions and documentation supports audits and internal reviews.
Coordination & Resolution
- You will coordinate with clearing agents, shipping lines, port authorities, and regulatory bodies to facilitate timely clearance of consignments.
- Assisting in resolving customs related issues including delays, discrepancies, and documentation errors keeps shipments moving.
Tracking & Compliance
- You will track shipments from arrival to final clearance and delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines.
- Ensuring compliance with Ghana Customs regulations including proper classification, valuation, and duty payments protects the company from penalties.
Cost Prevention & Reporting
- You will support efforts to achieve zero demurrage, detention, and storage charges through proactive follow ups and early intervention.
- Monitoring and updating shipment status reports while escalating issues to your supervisor when necessary.
- Assisting in the preparation of logistics and clearance reports including cost tracking and performance metrics.
Internal Coordination
- You will liaise with internal departments including procurement, warehouse, and finance to ensure smooth coordination of logistics activities.
- Ensuring adherence to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements across all operations.
Continuous Learning & Audits
- You will stay informed on updates to customs procedures, port operations, and trade regulations, keeping your knowledge current.
- Supporting audits by providing required documentation and ensuring proper record keeping.
What You Bring to the Role
Qualifications & Experience
- A degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of three to four years of post national service experience.
- A valid Ghanaian driver’s license gives you an advantage.
Technical Knowledge
- Basic working knowledge of Ghana Customs procedures and systems including GCNet and ICUMS.
- Understanding of import and export documentation and clearance processes.
- Familiarity with Incoterms, duties, tariffs, and shipping procedures gives you an advantage.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for tracking and reporting.

- Good organizational and time management skills to handle multiple shipments simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy, catching documentation errors before they cause delays.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with agents, port authorities, and internal teams.
