POSITION: Mine Surveyor
Job Description
Asanko Gold Ghana Ltd is looking to hire a driven and experienced Mine Surveyor to become part of the team. The chosen individual will help carry out mine survey tasks in line with the established quality management systems to guarantee efficient mining operations.
JOB OBJECTIVE
The Mine Surveyor will work alongside the survey team to provide extensive mine survey services to the mine production and project construction groups in order to achieve construction and production objectives.
MAIN DUTIES
- Guarantees prompt and precise collections of all project infrastructure, pits, and stockpiles for end-of-month Survey Volumetrics within the designated schedule.
- Collaborate closely with Mining (Planning/Production), Geology, and Geotech teams to perform tasks as outlined by the procedure.
- Conduct prism observations to assess pit wall stability.
- Guarantees critical production assessment of pit and infrastructure plans.
- Conduct frequent surveys of site infrastructure and topography.
- Conduct regular pit and infrastructure assessments for revising mine plans.
- Make sure all blast holes and grade control collars are picked up on time.
- Ensure that the marking of drill and blast patterns aligns with blast designs to attain the necessary drill depths.
- Oversight of TSF water levels for balancing mine water.
- Support in monitoring blast movement (OrePro and BMT)
- Encourage and inspire team members to work effectively and reach established goals.
- Supervise the Survey team in executing daily Survey activities.
- Conduct drone flights for surveying activities.
Necessary Skills or Experience
Knowledge
- A qualification in Geomatic/Geodetic Engineering from a respected university.
- At least three (3) years of work experience after qualification, with two of those years in the mining sector.
- Strong computer abilities with expertise in Surpac and other similar software.
- Expertise in the principles of geodetic and engineering surveying.
- Understanding of terrain and subsurface surveying.
- Exhibit a strong comprehension of mining techniques.
- Should be knowledgeable about the Minerals and Mining Regulation, 2012, along with associated laws of Ghana, and capable of interpreting and utilizing these laws and regulations. Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings, and skilled in setting up and operating survey instruments.
- Should possess proficiency in mining software like AutoCAD, MicroStation, or GIS applications for map development and data assessment.

- Experience in leadership and a comprehensive knowledge of effective survey methodologies.
- A deep enthusiasm for mentoring and nurturing others through the sharing of skills and expertise.
- Strongly developed skills in both oral and written communication.
- Skill in operating and diagnosing issues with survey instruments.
- Accuracy in producing and understanding maps and mining plans.
- Should exhibit strong communication abilities.
- Powerful communication and organizational abilities.
- Robust leadership abilities with the talent to encourage and energize teams for peak performance.
- Should have a valid Ghanaian driver’s license and the capability to navigate rough terrains.
