POSITION: Registrar
The University of Mines and Technology (UMaT), Tarkwa, informs the public that the Registrar position will be vacant from 1st August, 2025.
THE ROLE
- The Registrar serves as Secretary to the University Council as outlined by the Act.
- Accountable to the Vice Chancellor for managing the University;
- Accountable for the safekeeping of all legal documents and records of the University; and
- Any additional duties that may be assigned to him/her by the Vice Chancellor.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- A candidate must possess at least a Master’s Degree and have a minimum of Ten (10) years of work experience after qualification in a higher education institution or a similar organization;
- Should hold a position of at least Deputy Registrar or an equivalent level; and
- Candidates with significant Senior Management background in a large, intricate, and decentralized organization may be taken into account.
Moreover, a candidate must demonstrate verified proof of:
- Robust leadership abilities and energy;
- Demonstrates strategic thinking and proactively engages in the development of policies;
- Collaborating effectively as part of a team with strong interpersonal abilities;
- Strong communication abilities and outstanding report writing skills;
- Strong sense of duty and ethical principles; and
- Proficient in utilizing Information and Communication Technology.
CONTRACT DURATION
The candidate who is chosen must serve at least 4 years and may, upon request, be eligible for re-appointment for an additional term of 4 years or a portion of it, but not past their sixtieth (60th) birthday.
COMPENSATION: Service conditions are applicable in government-funded universities in Ghana.
