POSITION: Lecturers / Senior Lecturers / Professors

The Role

Successful applicants will be faculty members in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies (Medical & Oral) within the school of health and allied sciences and will report to the Head of Department. The applicants will be expected to instruct the subsequent courses:

• Anatomy
• Physiology
• Biochemistry
• Pathology
• Microbiology
• Hematology
• Pharmacology
• Chemical Pathology
• Public Health
• Child Health
• General Surgery
• Internal Medicine
• Obstetrics & Gynecology
• Psychiatry
• Anesthesia
• General Dentistry
• Restorative Dentistry

The candidates will oversee student research projects/theses, offer professional guidance to students, engage in and disseminate academic research, participate in conferences, and secure grants.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Should have a PhD or Masters degree focusing on the designated subject areas.
• Should have the appropriate teaching, research, and industry background.
• Should be registered with a relevant professional organization
• For courses related to clinical studies (courses marked with an asterisk)
• Membership or Fellowship in the Ghana College of Physicians and Surgeons will be necessary.

Conditions of Engagement

• The role can be either Full-Time or Part-Time/Adjunct.
• Initial full-time appointments will last for 4 years and may be renewed periodically, contingent upon satisfactory performance.
• Part-Time/Adjunct roles will last for 2 years and can be renewed; these positions are appealing.
