POSITION: Business Development Manager

Position Summary

The Business Development Manager will focus on spotting, cultivating, and acquiring new business prospects for Skaia Architecture and Construction. The position necessitates robust connections within the Ghanaian construction and real estate industries, the capability to foster enduring client relationships, and the motivation to reach revenue growth objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Locate and seek out new opportunities for construction projects (residential, commercial, mixed-use, public sector).
  • Establish and nurture robust connections with developers, architects, consultants, contractors, government entities, and corporate customers.
  • Monitor and address tenders, RFPs, and proposals, guaranteeing prompt submission with precise paperwork.
  • Create and sustain a pipeline of potential projects, providing regular updates to management.
  • Promote Skaia at industry gatherings, trade shows, and networking events to enhance visibility and relationships.
  • Work together with the technical and estimating teams to develop proposals, BOQs, and pricing submissions.
  • Perform market analysis to uncover trends, monitor competitor actions, and pinpoint opportunities.
  • Coordinate with management to negotiate contracts and agreements.
  • Meet monthly, quarterly, and yearly business growth objectives

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Business (preferred).
  • At least 7 years of experience in sales or business development in the construction or real estate sectors.
  • Robust connections within Ghana’s construction industry (builders, advisors, governmental bodies, architects).
  • Established history of obtaining medium-to-large-scale construction contracts.
  • Deep comprehension of contracts, bidding processes, and project phases.
  • Outstanding skills in negotiation, communication, and presentation.
  • Skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); familiarity with CRM software is beneficial.
  • Driven by personal motivation, goal-oriented, and capable of working autonomously.

Performance Standards

  • Create and uphold a pipeline valued at a minimum of 5 times the yearly revenue goal.
  • Obtain at least X new contracts/projects every quarter (to be specified by management).
  • Establish collaborations with a minimum of 5 new architects/consultants/developers during the initial 6 months.
  • Make certain Skaia is present at all significant construction industry events in Ghana.
