Job Description

Are you a creative HR expert enthusiastic about achieving outcomes in a dynamic, operational setting? An exciting chance is available for a Human Resource Officer to become part of our energetic team in Bamako, Mali. In this position, you will be integral in overseeing the entire HR function, aiding strategic initiatives, and fostering our dedication to operational excellence and the well-being of employees.

The HR Officer will oversee the efficient and effective daily operations of the HR department. He/she manages the entire employee life cycle from recruitment to retirement, facilitating the effective execution of HR policies, procedures, and programs aligned with the organization’s objectives. The individual in this position must also aid the company’s goals for Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental, and Quality by advocating for compliance and best practices throughout the organization.

Main Duties

  • Manage the complete recruitment cycle, encompassing job advertisements, interviews, collaboration with hiring managers, onboarding, and assessing the efficiency of hiring methods.
  • Oversee and facilitate the prompt renewal of fixed-term agreements.
  • Ensure that all HR-related forms and documents are correctly filled out and handled in accordance with company policies and compliance regulations.
  • Stay informed about current labour laws and HR legal obligations to reduce risk and guarantee adherence to regulations.
  • Serve as the guardian of employee information, guaranteeing that precise and secure records are upheld in the Company’s HRIS.
  • Verify that foreign employees hold valid work and residence permits following immigration laws.
  • Oversee local content compliance procedures in alignment with national regulations.
  • Facilitate and oversee internal communication initiatives to advance company news and boost employee involvement.
  • Plan and manage corporate events, gatherings, and employee involvement activities.

Qualification

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a comparable area. Having a qualification in HR is beneficial.
  • At least 5 years of experience in Human Resources, ideally in a multinational or high-energy setting.
  • Proficiency in both English and French is necessary.
  • Experience in the mining or extraction sector is a beneficial asset.
  • Solid understanding of HR concepts and optimal methods.
  • Outstanding communication, social, and team leadership abilities.
  • Capability to engage efficiently with employees across all tiers.
  • A proactive, business-focused, and advisory method for HR assistance.
  • Capacity to perform efficiently in high-pressure situations, handle various priorities, and adhere to strict deadlines.
  • Robust business acumen and comprehension of EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) factors.
  • A collaborative individual who can offer support within a diverse team.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with Workday HRIS is a beneficial asset.
  • A legitimate driver’s license is necessary.
  • Solid business acumen and emphasis on EHS.
