Position Summary

We are currently seeking a skilled, reliable, and highly professional Cook to join our administrative team. This role reports directly to the Acting Administration and Human Resources Manager. You will play an integral part in our daily operations by preparing exceptional, high-quality meals for our senior management and visiting guests. Furthermore, this position requires a dedicated individual who upholds the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and culinary presentation. You will contribute significantly to the positive experience of our officials and visitors through your culinary expertise.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and present quality, nutritious, and hygienic meals for the Plantation Manager and company guests, adhering to specific preferences and dietary requirements.

  • Maintain strict compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and personal hygiene protocols in the kitchen at all times.
  • Collaborate effectively with other domestic staff members to ensure seamless and discreet household service.
  • Manage kitchen inventory proactively to guarantee adequate stock levels of all essential food ingredients and supplies.
  • Perform laundry duties and execute thorough cleaning services within the Manager’s residence as required.
  • Execute any other lawful duties delegated by the Manager or assigned supervisor promptly and efficiently.
  • Actively comply with all company-mandated RSPO, HSE, and ISO 14001:2015 requirements, policies, and procedures.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by adhering to all environmental management and security protocols.
  • Utilize all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment correctly and exercise due care in every task.
  • Promptly report any incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions to your supervisor without delay.

Required Skills and Qualifications

You must possess a Diploma in Catering, a Catering II certificate, an SSSCE/WASSCE, or an equivalent qualification, supplemented by a professional catering certificate.

  • You need a minimum of five years of proven post-qualification experience in preparing both local and international cuisines
  • This experience should be gained from a reputable hotel, restaurant, or similar high-standard institutional setting.

Technical Competencies

Strong nutritional resource management and kitchen organization skills.

  • Extensive practical knowledge in preparing a diverse range of local Ghanaian and continental dishes.
  • In-depth understanding of modern food safety principles and hygiene management systems.
  • Demonstrated ability in diet management, particularly for expatriates or individuals with specific nutritional needs.

Personality Competencies

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a cooperative team spirit.
  • Solid verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Unimpeachable personal integrity and a discreet, trustworthy character.
  • Meticulous attention to detail in food preparation and presentation.
  • Proven capability to work effectively under pressure with minimal direct supervision.
