Bawjiase Area Rural Bank PLC seeks applications from appropriately qualified Ghanaian audit firms for appointment as External Auditors.
Extent of Work / Conditions of Reference
- Perform a standalone examination of the bank’s financial reports following international auditing standards (ISA), International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992), and the Banks and Specialised Deposit-Taking Institutions Act, 2016 (Act 930).
- Conduct thorough audits of the bank’s operational activities, evaluate the effectiveness of internal control systems, and offer expert advice as needed.
- Provide an independent assessment on whether the bank’s financial statements accurately reflect its financial status.
- Evaluate the sufficiency and efficiency of the bank’s internal control and risk management frameworks and document any shortcomings along with suggestions for enhancement.
- Compile and deliver the audited financial reports to shareholders during the Annual General Meetings (AGM).
- Offer assurance and consulting services as needed by the Board periodically.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Hold a valid license in accordance with the Chartered Accountant Act, 1963 (Act 170)
- Hold a good standing membership with the Institute of Chartered Accountants (Ghana) (ICAG)
- Obtain recognition and approval from the Bank of Ghana (BoG) to deliver external audit services for financial entities.
- Show established expertise in auditing rural and community banks or similar regulated financial entities.
- Possess verifiable proficiency in external auditing, as well as in the application of IFRS and ISA.
- Possess a comprehensive understanding of auditing, accounting principles, and pertinent laws and regulations governing the finance sector.
