PPAG was established to address the increasing demand for family planning education and services nationwide. Since its establishment, PPAG has transformed into one of Ghana’s foremost providers and champions of comprehensive sexual and reproductive health services, with a particular emphasis on young individuals and marginalized groups.
Steered by a rights-focused approach, PPAG aims to guarantee that all individuals, particularly women, youth, and marginalized groups, receive accurate information and high-quality services that enable them to make informed decisions regarding their sexual and reproductive health. PPAG functions via a network of clinics, youth centers, community service delivery locations, and peer educators distributed nationwide.
PPAG focuses on family planning services, education and care for HIV/AIDS, adolescent reproductive health, initiatives for safe motherhood, and the prevention of gender-based violence, among other areas. The Association participates in advocacy and capacity development to shape policies and advance gender equality and health services that are friendly to youth.
Aiming to be the foremost provider of quality and sustainable SRHR services in Ghana, PPAG remains a crucial contributor to enhancing health, rights, and well-being for all Ghanaians.
Position Summary
The Planned Parenthood Association of Ghana (PPAG), an NGO and a member of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), is a prominent provider of Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) education and services, and invites dedicated and results-driven individuals to apply for the vacant positions available within the Association.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Compiles the project’s monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and yearly reports, along with any additional reports that may be designated.
- Organize and verify that project returns are obtained, assessed, correctly classified, and inputted into the accounting system.
- Compiles the project’s complete final accounts and accompanying schedules for the year-end audit.
- Offers monetary assistance to project personnel.
- Examine all project outcomes and guarantee that uniformity is upheld in the internal control framework and report any discrepancies.
- Organizes and confirms that resources are accessible for project execution.
- Conducts monthly oversight of the revision of the Project’s Fixed Asset Register.
- Prepares monthly Bank Reconciliation reports for all projects the selected candidate will handle.
- Aids in the preparation of the project budget, Annual Programme and Budget (APB), as well as other financial data for Management to facilitate decision-making.
- Develops yearly work plans and finishes the performance evaluation form.
- Carries out any additional tasks given by the direct supervisor.
Required Qualification or Experience
- An HND in accounting, a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or a similar qualification. At least 3 years of pertinent work experience is necessary. Required competencies include computer skills, familiarity with spreadsheets, accounting software, as well as MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A solid understanding of Accpac Accounting Software
The individual must possess:
- Proficient understanding of computer usage.
- Expertise in delivering technical assistance to fellow employees.
- Possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and report writing abilities.
- Should be truthful, open, and dependable.
- Strong sense of duty, precision, and decision-making abilities.
- Should be a team player and capable of working extended hours and under stress.
- Should be capable of working independently with minimal oversight and possess attention to detail.
- The individual must live in Accra and its surrounding areas. The Association does not offer housing for employees.
