Position Overview
We are an innovative basic school in Ghana dedicated to offering 21st-century education to our learners.
We are looking for a dedicated, creative, and skilled Computing & Robotics Teacher to become part of our team. The ideal applicant will motivate young students in Basic School in computing, programming, and practical robotics. He/she reports directly to the Director of School Operations and ultimately to the CEO.
The candidate is advised to live in Dome, Kwabenya, Haatso, Achimota, or nearby areas.
Duties & Functions
As our Computing & Robotics Instructor, you will be anticipated to:
- Provide computing instruction in accordance with the Ghana Education Service (GES) Basic School ICT/Computing Curriculum.
- Instruct on hands-on programming principles using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Conduct practical robotics workshops utilizing tools like Cutebots, Microbits, and various microcontroller kits.
- Develop captivating lesson plans and educational activities customized for the age and skill level of students.
- Oversee and preserve computer lab assets and robotics equipment.
- Evaluate, observe, and document students’ advancement.
- Coordinate clubs for programming or robotics, host competitions, or organize tech showcases.
- Work together with fellow educators and engage in school activities and professional development.
- Act as a homeroom teacher
Qualifications/Experience
Individuals pursuing a role in this position are required to:
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in ICT, Computer Science, Information Technology, or Education focused on ICT.
- Possess a minimum of 1–2 years of teaching experience in ICT or computing (experience at the basic school level is a plus).
- Possess hands-on expertise and educational experience in HTML, CSS, JavaScript.
- Possess practical experience with educational robotics kits like Cutebots, Micro:bits, Arduino, etc.
- Possess knowledge of STEM/STEAM educational approaches and innovative digital teaching resources.
- Skill in fundamental networking, computer hardware, and software problem-solving is an advantage.
