International Affairs Junior Fellowship 2027/29
The U.S. Treasury is recruiting for its International Affairs Junior Fellowship. This selective two-year program hires new college graduates. Fellows help shape international economic policy for the country. They work within Treasury’s Office of International Affairs directly. Past fellows have moved into government roles, private sector jobs, and graduate study.

What Fellows Do
- Develop policy proposals on international economic issues
- Analyze global economic and financial developments
- Conduct analytical studies supporting Treasury priorities
- Support meetings with IMF, World Bank, G7, and G20 officials
- Potentially travel abroad for high-level engagements
Where Fellows Are Placed
- Regional offices overseeing foreign finance ministry relations
- Functional offices managing international financial institutions
- Broader policy areas like trade, export credits, or foreign exchange
Who Can Apply
- Recent or upcoming bachelor’s degree graduates
- Coursework in economics, policy, finance, or international relations
- Preference given specifically to undergraduate applicants
- Must hold U.S. citizenship with documentation available
- Must obtain and maintain a national security clearance
Required Materials
- Cover letter and two-page resume
- One recommendation letter
- Academic transcripts
- Confirmation of citizenship and desired start date
- Resume showing 2,080 hours of relevant experience
