POSITION: Process Engineer

OBJECTIVE: 

The Process Engineer will oversee the safe, dependable, and effective functioning of the gas conditioning facility by enhancing various processes to ensure the proper production of natural gas liquids, all while upholding the utmost standards of safety, environmental stewardship, and operational performance.

MAIN DUTIES:

ENGINEERING, PROCUREMENT & CONSTRUCTION (EPC) 

  • Support the EPC Project Team throughout the Construction, Installation, and Commissioning Phase:
  • Assist in the evaluation of Authorized For Construction drawings (AFCs), P&IDs, and commissioning checklists for the gas conditioning facility.
  • Assist in assessing all Red Lines and As-Built Drawings to verify their precision and adherence to initial designs and alterations.
  • Evaluate the operational efficiency and reliability of machinery and equipment, including pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, towers, and valves, among others.
  • Assistance in creating project specifications, cost projections, and timelines for process-oriented tasks.
  • Perform technical examinations and analyses to identify process problems and suggest remedies during construction and post-commissioning.
  • Aid in overseeing and finalizing installation activities throughout the construction period, while guaranteeing compliance with industry standards and corporate guidelines.
  • Perform simulations and modeling to enhance process parameters, equipment dimensions, and overall performance.
  • Suggest advice to the HSE team for creating plans aimed at enhancing health, safety, and environmental criteria across all production systems.
  • Assist in managing warranty and punch list concerns efficiently during the construction phase and after the plant’s commissioning.
  • Assist in guaranteeing compliance with quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) standards.

OPERATIONS & MAINTENANCE (OM)

  • Support the Operations Superintendent in addressing technical and operational challenges.
  • Examination of operational occurrences and creation of remedial and preventive measures.
  • Confirm that every issue and incident is documented, investigated, and reported.
  • Record all pertinent details into the CMMS.
  • For every task that needs a work permit, compile the necessary documentation.
  • Execute control room tasks related to switching and isolation procedures.
  • Conduct regular equipment checks to identify unusual conditions.
  • Assist and adhere to all practices related to process safety management and risk management plans (EIS, PSM, MOC, etc.)
  • Maintain an up-to-date plant hazard assessment and demonstrate comprehensive understanding of potential hazards and their corresponding safety measures.
  • Keep necessary regulatory paperwork.
  • Strive to reach our objective of “No Accidents”.
  • Assist the Reliability Team in carrying out predictive and preventive maintenance to avoid catastrophic failures and unplanned maintenance.
  • Keep a precise log of process information, equipment efficiency, and maintenance tasks.
  • Engage in hazard and risk evaluations, such as HAZOP (Hazard and Operability) assessments.

PURCHASING & SUPPLY CHAIN

  • Help the Operations Superintendent by supplying the required information and specifications for all Purchase and Service Order Agreements concerning operational consumables.
  • Support the Operations Superintendent in organizing and obtaining the necessary materials and services for module operation.

DEVELOPMENT OF ORGANIZATION

  • Suggest a training and development initiative for employees that aligns with both technical requirements and business objectives.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and development strategies with junior employees.
  • Organize the duty rotation schedule (active and off time) for junior staff members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BSc in Process, Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or Control and Instrumentation Engineering.

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:

  • At least 4+ years of experience in management, distribution, and operations within the midstream and downstream sectors.
  • Previous background in gas industrial functions (piping and instrumentation, vessels, tanks, heat exchangers, pumps, valves).
  • Knowledge of regulatory obligations for plant operations, encompassing Process Safety Management, OSHA standards, EPA rules, EEOC directives, and additional federal and local regulations.
  • Knowledge of Instrumentation and Industrial Automation, Supervisory Control Systems (SCADA and HMI), PLC-PAC coding, and industrial networking.
