POSITION: Manager of Professional Development
OBJECTIVE:
The Manager of Professional Development is tasked with creating, executing, and overseeing performance enhancement programs that enhance employee skills, promote ongoing professional advancement, and align with the organization’s strategic goals. This position will also spearhead the execution and management of a thorough succession planning framework to guarantee leadership continuity and sustained organizational success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Talent Sustainability:
- Set up and monitor KPIs that correspond with the 5-year strategy for every position in the organization.
- Examine and modify Job Descriptions to incorporate these KPIs, reinforce role clarity/performance standards, and ensure accountability.
- Performance Advancement Program (PAP):
- Create and execute a uniform performance assessment procedure.
- Collaborate intimately with department heads to create personal development plans (PDPs), pinpointing growth areas and outlining pertinent professional development initiatives to facilitate employee advancement.
- Set performance metrics and standards that correspond with organizational objectives and the requirements for employee growth.
- Design and execution of professional development programs:
- Create, execute, and oversee an all-encompassing professional plan, featuring the creation and facilitation of training programs, workshops, and e-learning projects.
- Make sure that learning programs foster the growth of both technical skills and vital leadership and interpersonal abilities.
- Locate and oversee external training providers and allies, guaranteeing their programs are efficient and in line with company requirements.
Platforms and Tools for Development:
- Supervise the choice and administration of learning management systems (LMS) and various digital platforms to present training materials, monitor employee advancement, and offer accessible educational opportunities.
Succession Planning:
- Oversee the development, execution, and ongoing enhancement of a comprehensive Succession Planning Program across the organization.
- Determine essential positions and evaluate present and future leadership requirements in accordance with the organization’s strategic goals.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and HR departments to pinpoint high-potential talent and formulate personalized development plans for successors
- Combine succession planning with workforce planning and initiatives for organizational development.
- Guarantee that succession pathways are varied, prepared for the future, and in harmony with enduring business continuity objectives.
- Track and provide updates on essential performance indicators (KPIs), such as internal promotion ratios, leadership pipeline strength, time-to-hire for vital positions, and successor preparedness levels.
- Offer consistent updates and strategic insights to executive leadership regarding succession risks and strategies for mitigation.
Policy Creation:
- Facilitate the creation and implementation of policies concerning performance management, employee growth, promotions, advancement, and career development to guarantee uniformity and equity throughout the organization.
- Suggest new policies or alterations to current policies that promote the ongoing growth of employees.
Integration of Systems:
- Supervise the merging of HRIS with e-learning platforms to guarantee smooth data transfer between systems.
- Make certain that employee training progress, certification achievements, and development information are correctly represented in the HRIS.
- Create and set up automated processes for performance evaluations, gathering feedback, and reporting.
- Assess and suggest innovative technologies that can enrich the learning experience and boost overall L&D operations.
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and continuous support of technologies like Learning Management Systems (LMS), talent development platforms, and online learning tools.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Psychology, Organizational Development, or Business Administration is required.
- A master’s degree is required.
- Having skills in French is an advantage.
- Global exposure and international work experience are essential.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- At least 10+ years of experience in a leading global consulting firm is necessary (e.g., McKinsey, Bain, BCG, Big 4).
- Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Familiarity with LMS, eLearning platforms, and various training technologies.
- Deep understanding of performance management systems and performance development planning.
- Demonstrated skill in evaluating training requirements and creating impactful solutions.
- Effective project management abilities and the capability to manage various priorities.
