Job Title: Management Trainee (Forestry Operations)

Job Description

Form Ghana Limited is not just another company. We are a leader in sustainable forestry management, dedicated to restoring forest cover and producing valuable timber through responsible practices. We are currently seeking six (6) highly motivated, smart, and versatile individuals to join our dynamic team as Management Trainees.

This is not a typical office-based traineeship where you will be making coffee and filing papers. Instead, you will be in the field. You will learn the science and the business of forest plantation management through hands-on training and real cross-departmental exposure. You will work alongside seasoned professionals who will mentor you in plantation operations, harvesting, and commercial activities. Consequently, upon successful completion of the six-month program, you will have the opportunity for permanent placement.

Responsibilities

As a Management Trainee, you will bridge the gap between your academic knowledge and the practical realities of forest management. You will spend your days outdoors, monitoring sites, assisting operations, and contributing to real projects. Your analytical skills will be tested. Your physical resilience will be built. And your passion for sustainability will be deepened.

Your core responsibilities will include:

Immersive Field Training

  • Undergo Comprehensive Plantation Training: You will rotate through core departments, gaining deep exposure to Plantation Operations, Harvesting Operations, and Commercial Operations. You will see the entire lifecycle of forest management.
  • Assist in Daily Field Operations: You will work alongside supervisors and team leaders, helping with the day-to-day tasks that keep our plantations thriving. You will learn by doing.
  • Conduct Site Monitoring: You will regularly monitor plantation sites, collecting data and reporting on progress, emerging trends, or potential issues. Your observations will inform management decisions.

Operational Contribution & Planning

  • Participate in Performance Reviews: You will engage in regular performance assessments and practical evaluations. You will receive constructive feedback to accelerate your development.
  • Contribute to Operational Planning: You will help plan activities, manage resources, and bring innovative ideas to the table. Your fresh perspective will be valued.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: You will work with cross-functional teams to improve workflow efficiency. You will learn how different departments interconnect to achieve company goals.

The Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for recent graduates who are not afraid of hard work and outdoor conditions. You are passionate about the environment and eager to apply your knowledge in a practical setting. You are proactive, adaptable, and ready to learn from experts in the field.

To be eligible for this program, you will need:

Education & Certification

  • A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Forestry, Natural Resource Management, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
  • A completed National Service certificate.
  • A valid National ID (Ghana Card) and a current Health Insurance certificate.

Experience & Attributes

  • Previous internship or project experience in the forestry sector is a distinct advantage, but we also welcome exceptional fresh graduates.
  • A fast learning ability combined with strong analytical skills. You can absorb new information quickly and apply it effectively.
  • Excellent problem-solving ability. You can think on your feet in dynamic outdoor environments.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Willingness and physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions. This role requires being on your feet and in the field.
  • A genuine passion for sustainability and environmental stewardship. This is not just a job; it is a mission.
  • A proactive and adaptable mindset. You take initiative and adjust to changing circumstances.
  • Creative and innovative thinking. We value new ideas that can improve our operations.
  • Good interpersonal relations skills to build positive working relationships.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reporting and documentation.

Advantageous Skills

  • Knowledge of GIS mapping and forestry software applications will make you a stronger candidate.

Why You Will Thrive at Form Ghana Limited

This is more than a six-month contract. It is an investment in your future as a forestry professional.

  • Hands-On Learning: You will not be stuck behind a desk. You will learn in the field, gaining practical skills that classroom theory cannot provide.
  • Expert Mentorship: You will be guided by seasoned professionals who have dedicated their careers to sustainable forestry.
  • Path to Permanency: Successful trainees have the opportunity to secure permanent roles within the company. Your performance here shapes your future.
  • Mission-Driven Work: You will contribute to real environmental impact, helping restore forests and manage resources sustainably.
  • Locations in Nature: You will work in Berekum and Akumadan, beautiful areas that connect you with the environment every day.
  • Females Encouraged: We strongly encourage qualified female candidates to apply. We believe diversity strengthens our team.
