POSITION: Programme Manager
Job Summary
We are looking for a committed and seasoned Programme Manager to oversee the operational execution of an inclusive development initiative. This initiative seeks to empower young individuals with disabilities throughout Africa, particularly emphasizing young women. Through offering training that aligns with market needs, initial capital, and interaction with essential stakeholders, the initiative aims to break down obstacles to engagement in the digital economy and foster inclusive employment practices.
Duties
In your role as the Programme Manager, you will:
- Serve as a key liaison for consortium partners, ensuring alignment with program goals and objectives.
- Verify adherence to donor criteria and regulations, including oversight and documentation of fund utilization.
- Create and execute collaborative work plans with consortium partners, explicitly outlining roles and responsibilities.
- Enable the exchange of knowledge, effective strategies, and insights gained among consortium partners.
- Manage and settle disputes within the consortium, fostering cooperative teamwork.
- Coordinate and facilitate routine consortium governance meetings to assess advancements and strategize upcoming tasks.
- Act as the consortium’s representative in discussions with donors, government bodies, and various stakeholders.
- Supervise the programme team’s activities, guaranteeing top-notch project documentation and reporting.
- Assist partners in obtaining technical guidance and expertise for effective program execution.
- Facilitate monitoring and evaluation alongside partners, guaranteeing prompt and uniform data gathering, analysis, and reporting, collaborating effectively with specialized MEL expertise.
Skills and Experience
To achieve success in this position, you will require:
- A demonstrated history of success in Programme/Project management in an INGO setting at the Programme Manager position.
- Involvement in a thriving consortium.
- Extensive expertise in strategic program development, advocacy, monitoring and evaluation, along with logistics and supply chain management.
- Proficient in both spoken and written English.
- Background in skills training/development, internships, employer involvement, and inclusion of individuals with disabilities.
- A solid comprehension of principles related to gender equality and disability inclusion.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.
- Robust project management abilities encompassing the effective execution of program policies and strategies, as well as monitoring and evaluation.
- Skills in line management, team management, and mentoring.
- Strong IT competencies and proficiency in handling project budgets, forecasts, and reports.
- Current and active Right to Work in one of the designated locations.
