The Opportunity

We are hiring a Global Field Service Specialist specializing in High-Pressure Grinding Rolls (HPGR). This technical specialist role within our global field service group focuses on supporting Grinding Product Line equipment for both capital projects and aftermarket services. You will act as a trusted advisor, providing expert support to customers, Metso personnel, and contractors worldwide on installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Key Responsibilities

As a key technical advisor, you will manage the full lifecycle of field service assignments:

First, you will meticulously plan and prepare for field assignments, reviewing scopes of work, drawings, and specifications.
You will provide critical advisory services during equipment installation, checkout, startup, and commissioning to ensure safety and compliance with design standards.
A core responsibility involves coordinating on-site activity with customers and contractors to maintain project schedules.
Furthermore, you will troubleshoot mechanical and process issues, collect operational data, and recommend solutions to improve efficiency.
You will also maintain precise daily records and communications, keeping project managers and engineering teams updated on progress and challenges.
Additionally, you will prepare and submit detailed technical reports for customers and internal stakeholders.
A vital part of your role includes training customer personnel in equipment operation, maintenance, and repair.
Finally, you will assist in business development by visiting customers with the sales team to identify new service opportunities.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

An associate degree, diploma, or equivalent certification in an engineering field, plus a minimum of five years of relevant field experience (e.g., millwright, automation, process). Equivalent hands-on experience will also be considered.

At least three years of direct site work experience.
Specific experience in the installation and mechanical commissioning of HPGR grinding equipment.
The ability to obtain an international driver’s license and possession of a valid passport are mandatory.
Excellent problem-solving, negotiation, and communication skills.
Strong written and verbal English proficiency is essential.

Desirable Experience

In-depth previous experience with HPGR equipment and systems.
Strong mechanical knowledge of associated pyro-processing procedures.
