POSITION: Finance Officer

Our objective is to deliver responsible financial services at the bottom of the pyramid. BGSL is a subsidiary of BRAC International Holdings B.V. (BIHBV), which works in seven countries spanning Africa and Asia.
Duty Station: Accra.
PURPOSE
The Finance Officer will assist with financial bookkeeping, reconciliation, analysis of all financial activities, ensuring compliance with accounting and regulatory requirements, and budget development.
Major responsibilities
- Assist in keeping and examining financial records.
- Assist in ensuring compliance with accounting and tax regulations.
- Assist in budgeting.
- Monitor expenses and profits and produce reports.
- Evaluate internal management systems, procedures, and hazards in order to make recommendations.
- Assist in preparing financial statements.
- Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Assist in creating and documenting business processes and accounting policies in order to maintain and reinforce internal procedures.
- Maintain petty cash on a daily basis, prepare monthly reports, and send data to the system on schedule.
- Prepare a periodic bank reconciliation statement for the assigned accounts.
- Maintain record-keeping books and reconcile finances on a timely basis.
- Prepare vouchers and process payments.
- Validate and deliver the BOG prudential results.
- Liaise with the relevant parties to submit returns and ensure correct compliance.
- Manage accounts receivable and payable.
- Perform similar duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
Required Skill or Experience
EXPERIENCE (Including Sector/Industry):
- A minimum of a first degree or equivalent in accounting or related areas
- At least three years of post-qualification accounting experience in the financial services industry.
- Proficient in using MS 365 Office, BoG ORASS, and the T24 Platform.
- Applicants must have knowledge and expertise in implementing IFRS and be intermediate or advanced users of MS Excel.
- A practical test will be done prior to the interview.

- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.

SPECIFIC EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree Concentration/Major:
- Degree in Accounting, Banking, and Finance
PROFESSIONAL DEGREE/CERTIFICATION
- Professional accounting and finance certification (e.g., CA, ACCA) is required.
