POSITION: Solution Specialist

Your Mission
You will ensure the complete service offering across the product lifecycle within the mining industry, with a special focus on Technical Services offerings. Your role will span customer management, new business development, technical support, and market intelligence. You will act as the voice of the customer, ensuring our services match or exceed their needs while driving internal productivity and external competitiveness.
Key Accountabilities
Your role encompasses customer engagement, technical support, market analysis, and cross functional collaboration. Here is what you will tackle:
Customer & Product Management
- You will manage customers and their mill liners throughout the product life cycle, ensuring optimal performance and longevity.
- Identifying and developing new business in the region expands our reach and strengthens our market position.
- Presenting solutions to customers in the Middle East requires confidence, technical depth, and persuasive communication.
Technical Expertise & Field Support
- You will perform liner scanning, attend installations on customer sites, and review data preset feedback. Your hands on approach ensures solutions perform as designed.
- Following liners performance and customer trends allows you to anticipate needs and proactively address challenges.
Market Intelligence & Strategy
- Providing feedback into the business regarding customer needs and market intelligence keeps our offerings aligned with market demands.
- Monitoring industry updates and changes in the product landscape ensures we stay ahead of trends.
- Gathering, monitoring, and analyzing market trends and competition informs strategic decision making.
Sales & Proposal Support
- Maintaining opportunities in the CRM system keeps the sales pipeline visible and actionable.
- Supporting the proposal department on complex solutions ensures we deliver competitive, technically sound bids.
- Estimating sales support needs for the regions including training and sales materials strengthens our go to market capabilities.
Cross Functional Collaboration
- Working closely with product line, engineering, and sales teams across FLSmidth ensures seamless integration of technical services with broader business objectives.
- Providing input for strategies in Development, Go to Market, and Supply Chain for Technical Services shapes our approach to growth.
Training & Development
- Training internal teams including Milling and Sales organizations, as well as customers, on mill lining according to each particular demand builds capability across our network.
- Supporting liner selection by seeking the best technical and commercial options improves competitiveness.
Product Development & Manufacturing Support
- Participating in the development of new products or optimization of existing products yields better performance, quality, and cost competitiveness.
- Supporting manufacturing units with specification details, cost reduction programs, and customer claim analysis strengthens our operational excellence.
Safety & Culture
- Promoting a culture of personal and team safety, including others who may be affected by the company’s operational activities, reflects our commitment to zero harm.
What You Bring to the Role
We are looking for a candidate with the right qualifications and experience. Here is what you need:
- A relevant tertiary level qualification, ideally a mechanical engineering degree.
- A minimum of three years of experience working with grinding processes.
- Self driven with the ability to work under minimum supervision.
- Strong technical knowledge of mill liners and grinding operations.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging customers and internal stakeholders.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work across teams and regions.
