The Opportunity: Data Analytics in Assurance

We are seeking a skilled Data Analytics Contractor to join our Assurance practice. In this role, you will empower audit teams by leveraging data analytics to deliver deeper insights and enhance audit engagements, with a focus on the financial services and telecommunications sectors. This is a dynamic opportunity to apply technical data skills within a professional services context, supporting some of the world’s most recognized companies.

Your Client Responsibilities

You will be a vital technical resource for our audit teams. Your primary duties will include:

Collaborating with auditors to extract, transform, and load (ETL) client data for analysis.
Ensuring data quality and integrity through rigorous validation and cleansing procedures.
Utilizing SQL and other analytics tools to analyze client datasets and generate actionable audit insights.
Developing queries and scripts to automate repetitive data extraction and reporting tasks.
Assisting in the creation of clear dashboards and visualizations to communicate findings effectively to stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate will bring relevant education and hands-on experience:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, IT, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field. Accounting graduates with a strong IT interest are also welcome.
An expected CGPA of Second Class Upper or above.
A minimum of three years of practical experience in data analytics, preferably with exposure to audit or financial data.
Proficiency in SQL for complex data extraction and analysis is a mandatory requirement.
A relevant certificate in Data or Business Analytics is a strong advantage.
Affiliation with ISACA, ICAG, or ACCA, or a high motivation to pursue a professional qualification in IT Audit or finance, is also beneficial.

Required Skills

Technical Expertise:

Advanced SQL skills, including complex queries, joins, and performance optimization.
Strong data analysis capabilities with large, complex datasets.
Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Word, Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros), and PowerPoint.

Analytical & Professional Attributes:

Critical thinking and meticulous attention to detail.
Effective problem-solving and the drive to see tasks through to completion.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear presentation of findings.
Adaptability in fast-paced environments and agility in learning new tools.
High personal integrity, enthusiasm, and intrinsic motivation.
