POSITION: Reliability & Maintenance Lead – Anglophone, West Africa
Job Description
We are looking for an energetic and skilled Maintenance / Contract Manager to oversee maintenance activities for both surface and underground mining machinery. This position is essential for maintaining equipment availability, reliability, and performance by utilizing strategic planning, condition monitoring, and implementing industry best practices.
This role presents notable career advancement opportunities within our Parts and Service Department, with well-defined routes to positions like Service Operations Manager, Technical Manager, and Business Development Manager.
What Activities Will You Engage In
- Promote customer-oriented technical assistance to guarantee excellent customer satisfaction.
- Effectively organize and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance timelines to reduce downtime and enhance equipment efficiency.
- Examine equipment performance metrics, pinpoint areas for enhancement, and perform root cause analysis on malfunctions.
- Enhance Epiroc machine efficiency by applying value-added services to all underground equipment present at the site.
- Stimulate business growth by conducting Rigscan evaluations and identifying new service prospects.
- Spearhead safety initiatives, share service updates, and carry out underground product enhancements.
- Suggest components to enhance fleet coverage and maintain operational consistency.
- Handle warranty claims and safety initiatives with accuracy and diligence.
- Offer continuous product assistance for equipment used on the surface and underground.
- Work together with the Product Company on technical enhancements and TSNBs.
- Collaborate with the Training Lead to create effective training initiatives for both internal and external clients.
- Assist the Sales Team with underground business bidding and proposal preparation.
What Qualifies You
- Degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electromechanical Engineering, or trade certification with proficient electrical troubleshooting abilities.
- At least 5 years of experience in maintenance management in mining or heavy industrial settings.
- Broad practical experience with underground and surface mining machinery (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, electronic, RCS).
- Demonstrated experience collaborating with mining contractors and overseeing maintenance teams on-site.
- Comprehensive understanding of substantial mining machinery such as drills, loaders, trucks, and crushers.
- Extensive experience in preventive and predictive maintenance, incorporating condition assessment and failure assessment.
Skills & Competencies
- Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities with the capacity to interpret technical data and diagrams.
- Proficiency in reliability engineering principles, including FMEA, reliability block diagrams, and predictive modelling.
- Strong communication abilities in both English and French, capable of articulating intricate technical details effectively.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, emphasizing safety, performance, and ongoing enhancement.
- Experience in strategic planning and project management.
- Capability to form robust connections with internal teams, clients, and external parties.
