This role reports to the Global Parenting Hub Lead and is a member of the Digital Strategy Section (DSS) of the Division of Global Communication and Advocacy. In addition to worldwide digital marketing and the creation of official UNICEF digital partnerships, the Digital Strategy Section is in charge of UNICEF’s global digital channels and digital communications, which include unicef.org in five UN languages and global social media channels.

In addition, the Section is responsible for creating, overseeing, and maintaining international online domains and for offering help to national and regional offices concerning digital transformation, governance, and capacity building.

About Role

Both as a crucial element of UNICEF’s 2022–2025 Digital Transformation strategy and as part of the GCA’s Digital First policy. In addition to helping UNICEF and the website establish itself as a leading online resource that parents can rely on, the post will educate parents and caregivers on the importance of nurturing caregiving.

  • To generate and optimize high-performing content and support the development of UNICEF’s parenting audience, this position is responsible for doing research, creating, and editing content, as well as using digital analytics and keyword research tools.
  • The job is essential to supporting local parenting hubs and programs run by UNICEF’s network of more than 190 country offices by offering advice and global parenting content for local adaptation.
  • To support the management and optimization of paid advertising on Google, Meta, and other platforms that promote international parenting content, the role works closely with coworkers in the Paid Marketing team.

Job Duties

  • Research, write, edit, and produce useful content for UNICEF Parenting that meets the requirements of parents and caregivers while adhering to UNICEF’s global brand and editorial standards.
  • Work together with internal partners to verify that content is factually accurate and compliant with UNICEF’s global policy as part of the editorial process, which includes program review and fact-checking.
  • Encourage the establishment and maintenance of a pool of outside experts and contributors, such as authors and illustrators, to guarantee that work is finished on time and to a high standard.
  • To target important parent-related terms, conduct keyword research and develop content strategies. Keep an eye on organic search traffic by conducting audits, researching keywords, monitoring keyword placements, and making content adjustments. Assist with developing Search Engine Optimization (SEO) procedures and best practices for the whole UNICEF.org staff.

Dissemination and Engagement:

  • Participate in the promotion of organic and sponsored parenting material worldwide.
  • Assist with the creation and optimization of advertising on platforms like Google and Meta by collaborating with the paid marketing team.

  • Work with the Digital Intelligence team to monitor UNICEF Parenting’s digital statistics, including creating baselines and benchmarks.
  • To monitor the effectiveness of your content and identify areas for improvement, generate reports using digital analytics.
  • Gather and assess user feedback so that editorial and UX decisions—like A/B testing—can be better informed. Seek novel approaches to experiment, learn, and connect with larger audiences.

Field Assistance:

  • Permit the conduct of parenting programs by UNICEF Country Offices and Regional Offices.
