POSITION: Credit Recovery Officer
Dara Capital is seeking a Credit Recovery Officer to join our Credit Recovery, Risk and Assessment department in the Greater Accra Region. If you possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and knowledge of credit laws and regulations, this role offers the opportunity to manage loan portfolios, conduct site visits, prepare collections reports, and develop credit policies that minimize losses.

Your Mission
You will take responsibility for monitoring an allocated portfolio of delinquent loan facilities to determine reasons for delinquency. Your role includes applying sound credit judgment and collections strategy within policy guidelines, maintaining loan ageing analysis, preparing approval requests for negotiated settlements, and ensuring compliance with credit policies. Additionally, you will prepare monthly collections reports, conduct regular calls and site visits, initiate demand letters, review credit files, and develop credit policies.

Your role spans portfolio monitoring, collections reporting, field visits, documentation, compliance, and policy development. Here is what you will tackle:
Portfolio Monitoring
- You will monitor an allocated portfolio of delinquent loan facilities to determine reasons for delinquency.
- Applying sound credit judgment and collections strategy within pre determined policy guidelines to minimize credit losses.
Loan Ageing & Settlements
- You will maintain a loan ageing analysis, schedule, and follow up with investees on recoverability of outstanding loan balances.
- Preparing approval requests to management for negotiated settlements and following up until accounts fully settle.
Collections Reporting
- You will maintain and prepare monthly collections reports, updates, and status summaries.
- Ensuring a consistent reduction of non performing loans through aggressive recoveries and viable restructuring options.
Field Visits & Follow Ups
- You will undertake regular and frequent calls, site visits, and follow ups with investees to implement remedial strategies and action plans for loan recovery.
- Building relationships while holding borrowers accountable.
Documentation & Compliance
- You will initiate demand and reminder letters to all defaulting customers.
- Reviewing all credit files for proper documentation and monitoring.
- Ensuring effective compliance with internal and external regulatory requirements by working closely with the legal department.
Policy Development
- You will develop and continuously review credit policies and procedures, ensuring their compliance.

What You Bring to the Role
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
Experience
- Proven experience as a credit recovery officer or in a similar role.
- Experience in credit analysis, risk assessment, and collections.
- Ability to develop and implement credit policies and procedures.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail for evaluating loan files and repayment capacity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for negotiating with delinquent borrowers.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet monthly recovery targets.
- Knowledge of credit laws and regulations to ensure compliant recovery practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial software for tracking and reporting.
- Leadership and team management skills to guide junior recovery staff.
