Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes while maintaining high-quality standards consistently.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, including HACCP principles and hygiene standards at all times.
  • Monitor food presentation, taste, and portion control throughout service to meet customer expectations.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas, equipment, and workstations efficiently.
  • Collaborate with kitchen team members during busy service periods to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist with stock monitoring, FIFO rotation, and proper storage of ingredients and supplies consistently.
  • Support menu preparation and accommodate special dietary requirements as directed by management.
  • Participate in training programs and perform additional duties required within the kitchen environment.

Job Requirements

  • Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification such as AQF Diploma or higher.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience working as a qualified Chef in a professional kitchen environment.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, food preparation, and kitchen operations consistently demonstrated.
  • Understanding of food safety standards, hygiene practices, and HACCP principles is essential.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure during busy service periods while maintaining quality standards.
  • Good communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team-oriented kitchen environment.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays according to a structured roster system.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and perform tasks in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Food Safety Supervisor certification or the ability to obtain certification when required.
  • Valid work authorization in Australia, with visa sponsorship available for eligible candidates.
