Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot program
Two new immigration categories have been created by the Canadian government as part of the Economic Mobility Pathways Pilot program. It indicates that the government aims to improve Canadian businesses’ access to skilled workers.
Letting businesses use a new Global Talent pool is the authority’s plan to use the country’s immigration system to alleviate ongoing labor shortages, according to Sean Fraser, Minister of Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada. The ultimate objectives worldwide are to locate competent workers among those relocated abroad and provide them with long-term solutions. Currently, Canada is pressing for this.
He proceeded by stressing that Canada would maintain coming up with innovative and adaptable ways to provide access to those who are vulnerable. ultimately helping businesses locate and hire the skilled workers they need to expand their operations.
What are the two Streams?
The two streams that make up the Economic Mobility pathways are as follows;
The No-job Offer Stream
This stream is designed for specific candidates who possess highly sought-after skills, ensuring they will land a job once they land in Canada. 1,560 hours minimum of a full-time job, or an equivalent number of part-time hours with three years of work experience before.
Candidates must have the application date to be eligible. The job experience should be classified under tier categories 0, 1, 2, or 3 of the national occupational classifications. It’s important to keep in mind that prior employment as an independent contractor does not count.
Along with these streams, the EMPP Federal Talents without a Job Offer stream recognizes that some applicants have highly sought-after skills and will be able to find employment as soon as they come to Canada.
The Job Offer Stream
The stream’s target audience is the displaced people and refugees who have obtained a job offer that meets certain requirements. A Canadian company must offer full-time employment or at least 30 hours per week, and the position must fit the criteria for one of the national occupational classification categories 1, 2, 3, or 5.
Employers can utilize this stream to help them identify competent individuals for a variety of in-demand professions based on training, responsibility, and experience. These consist of;
- Nurse assistance
- Mechanical and electrical engineers
- Technicians
- Long-term Care Aides
- Software Engineers
- Personal support workers
- Web designers
- Tourism and Hospitality workers
- Truck and delivery service drivers
- Logistics and warehouse workers and more
Due to the installation of efficiencies and improvements through engagement with partners during the introduction of the initial EMPP streams, newcomers using the program will now be able to immigrate to Canada and start working there more quickly.
These new streams aid in lowering entry barriers because candidates are not required to have work experience in Canada.
Ottawa recently revealed a new federal pathway as part of the Economic Mobility Pathways strategy. The government has also made a new open work permit available to applicants in the family and spousal class.
