POSITION: Branch Managers (2 positions)
PURPOSE
BRAC International (BI) is looking for a Branch Manager in the Central Region of Ghana who shares its commitment to collaborating with communities to generate impactful results on a larger scale. The AIM Branch Manager (AIM-BM) will lead program implementation efforts at the branch level and will oversee all branch program activities. This includes daily management and execution, supervision, staff development, staff oversight and monitoring, stakeholder engagement, procurement, and ensuring coordination within the internal team.
The BM will directly oversee around 5-10 Program Assistants and indirectly supervise one (1) Branch Accounts & Operations Officer (BAOO) to guarantee efficient and prompt program execution and quality control. She will be accountable for comprehensive reporting (MIS, internal, and donor reporting) and for assisting with various technical and operational tasks at the branch level.
KEY DUTIES
- Offer oversight for all AIM-related program tasks at the branch level, ensuring planning, execution, implementation, and monitoring align with the operations manual; guarantee attainment of program targets as outlined in the AOP.
- Guide team formation, employee induction, training, and event organization for AIM-PAs and BAOO.
- Oversee activities related to community identification, listing, entry, and household (HH) surveys.
- Manage the selection, setup, and decoration of AIM clubs, choose participants utilizing the BInsight application, and oversee the operation of club activities with direct support from PAs.
- Recruitment of lead mentors, training, establishment of YDC, training and meetings, formation of VSLA, training, and operational activities
- Make sure all data related to the program, including information on activity implementation, attendance, and other details, is gathered using BInsight and any other approved program tools.
- Offer technical support and direction to PAs to align participants with livelihood and education options.
- Guarantee the allocation of livelihood and educational assistance to the appropriate individuals and the prompt collection of the shared cost from those who qualify.
- Guarantee prompt banking and additional finance-related tasks along with reporting.
- Oversee all activities related to market development, engage the community, and work closely with the BRAC Microfinance (MF) team to ensure AIM MF days are carried out successfully.
- Guide and oversee the educational support for qualified participants within the Branch.
- Guarantee that 80% of qualifying AIM participants in the Branch move to Microfinance – Brac Ghana Savings and Loans Limited.
- Make sure to secure all electronic devices and related accessories along with the office furniture.
- Make certain that all branch-level files and registers are updated on the display board according to the program design.
- Guarantee prompt preparation and delivery of management information system (MIS), financial, and donor reports.
Responsibilities for safeguarding
- Protect team members from harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to successfully implement the programme’s objectives on safeguarding.
- Serve as a primary resource for support, advice, and knowledge on safeguarding to create a secure working environment.
- Encourage, advocate for, and support the principles of safeguarding policy among team members and guarantee the execution of safeguarding standards in all actions taken.
- Adhere to the safeguarding reporting protocol if a reportable incident occurs, and encourage others to do likewise.
Required Skills or Experience
PARTICULAR ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL CREDENTIAL:
- Lowest requirement: Bachelor’s degree
- Field of Study: Social sciences/Anthropology/Sociology/Community Development/Business Administration/Education, or related disciplines.
EXPERIENCE (Comprising sector/industry)
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the national/international development field, particularly with extremely poor and marginalized groups, executing integrated development initiatives such as microfinance, education, livelihoods, agricultural and food security, and/or programs focused on the empowerment of girls and women.
UNDERSTANDING, ABILITIES & QUALIFICATIONS
- Outstanding writing and facilitation abilities
- Expertise in managing and coordinating projects, encompassing oversight and evaluation, administration, finance, and logistics.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with digital reporting and/or survey platforms (e.g., KoBo, Google Forms, SurveyMonkey, CommCare, SurveyCTO, etc.) is preferred.
- Robust teamwork and collaboration skills, along with proven capability to establish connections with people from various backgrounds.
- Personal traits of integrity, reliability, and commitment to BRAC’s mission.
- Skills in community mobilization, such as effective communication and facilitation abilities.
