One of the major societal pressure on most women above the age of 18 is the need to get married. The most common question such ladies face on daily basis is “So when are you getting married”?
Marriage seems to be the hallmark of being regarded as a ” respectable woman”. Even though several feminists across the globe have been constantly trying to educate the public on the need to see women beyond wives and baby making machines, it doesn’t seem to click.
The likes of music producer and manager of Shatta Wale, Bulldog is still of the view that a woman’s place is in the kitchen.
Well, Playwright and social activist Uncle Ebo Whyte has referred to people who constantly lambast others about when they will marry as stupid.
Sharing his views on the KSM show, Uncle Ebo Whyte as he is affectionately called, said that he doesn’t understand why people will get up and start asking when someone will get married.
He described it as a foolish question and that if marriage was just like buying commodities from the market, everyone would have been married.
