The Architectural Inspector III will operate in the field, supporting inspection activities across multiple construction sites while ensuring adherence to project specifications, building codes, and safety regulations. Job Duties
- Review and interpret construction plans, site layouts, specifications, and building methods to ensure compliance with legal and safety requirements.
- Perform routine inspections and material tests on concrete, soils, and related construction materials.
- Measure and verify structural dimensions, alignment, elevation, and compliance with approved plans and codes.
- Coordinate and supervise inspection activities to ensure contractor adherence to project requirements and standards.
- Prepare field reports, correspondence, and maintain accurate project records and documentation.
- Facilitate communication between contractors, clients, government agencies, and internal project teams to resolve field issues.
- Lead and mentor inspection team members, providing performance feedback, coaching, and task direction.
- Conduct field calculations, notes, and reporting to support inspection findings and project documentation.
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum of 4 years of construction inspection experience.
- Strong proficiency in computer applications used for reporting and documentation.
- Must pass company motor vehicle screening requirements.
- Valid certification in at least one of the following: ICC Commercial Building Inspector, ICC Certified Building Official, or Structural Masonry Special Inspector.
- Experience in construction management or civil engineering is preferred.
- Ability to supervise inspection teams and operate in an owner’s representative capacity is an advantage.
- Physical ability to work in field conditions including lifting, standing, kneeling, and working in varying weather environments.
