Angry parents storm ABUSCO, invoke curses on authorities for dismissing their wards

Management of Abuakwa State College (ABUSCO) in the Eastern region has indefinitely suspended over 40 students.

The school authorities suspended the students over their involvement in unlawful activities which results in violence.

According to sources, the suspended students belong to a group known as ‘Above The Law’.

The students who are form 2 Green track male boarding students of Akyem Asafo House have been ordered to leave the school immediately.

In a letter signed by the Headmaster of the school, Eric Hanson Adjei Sarpong which was addressed to the parents explained why the students have been suspended.

“Your ward has been suspended indefinitely from the school with immediate effect. The action has therefore been taken to serve as a deterrent to the entire student’s body.

By a copy of this letter, the Housemaster is to see to his immediate exit from the school after he has handed over all school property in his possession. You are to counsel him adequately at home while we await a decision from the Board of Governors”, the letter said.

Management explained that the students formed unauthorized groups with hidden agendas resulting in rivalry conflicts.

They also organised gang meetings in the school without approval, possessed and used lethal weapons and fought other students on campus.

The school noted that the students used mobile phones, failed to observe lights out and deceived the disciplinary committee during interrogation.

However, parents and guardians of the affected students were not pleased with the new development and expressed their anger by hurling curses at the management.

The displeased parents stormed the school premised to protest the decision by the school authorities.
