POSITION: Sponsorship Assistant

ActionAid Ghana (AAG) is seeking an experienced Sponsorship Assistant to join our team. If you hold a Diploma in a relevant field, bring at least two years of experience, and want to support fundraising activities through child sponsorship coordination, this role offers the perfect opportunity to contribute to social justice while building your career with a respected global movement.

Your Mission

You will support fundraising activities through the coordination of child sponsorship activities between funding affiliates and regional teams. Your focus will center on following sponsorship procedures and meeting performance indicators. Your ability to communicate clearly, stay organized, and manage relationships across multiple regions will ensure children and communities receive the support they need.

Key Responsibilities

Your role spans sponsorship coordination, stakeholder communication, data management, and performance tracking. Here is what you will tackle:

Sponsorship Coordination

  • You will coordinate child sponsorship activities between funding affiliates and regional teams, ensuring smooth information flow and timely execution.
  • Following sponsorship procedures and performance indicators keeps activities aligned with organizational standards.

Stakeholder Communication

  • You will serve as a bridge between funding partners, regional teams, and local communities, ensuring everyone stays informed and aligned.
  • Responding to inquiries and providing updates builds trust and transparency.

Data & Documentation

  • You will maintain accurate records of sponsorship activities, tracking progress and flagging issues before they escalate.
  • Ensuring documentation meets both internal and external requirements protects the integrity of the sponsorship programme.

Performance Monitoring

  • You will track performance against indicators, identifying areas for improvement and celebrating successes.
  • Contributing to reports that demonstrate impact helps secure continued funding and support.

What You Bring to the Role

We are looking for a candidate with the right academic qualification, experience, and personal attributes. Here is what you need:

Academic Qualification & Experience

  • A Diploma in a relevant field.
  • At least two years of experience in a coordination, administrative, or fundraising support role.
  • Experience working with NGOs, child sponsorship programmes, or community development initiatives gives you a distinct advantage.

Skills & Attributes

  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple tasks, deadlines, and stakeholder relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills for liaising between funding affiliates, regional teams, and communities.
  • Attention to detail for maintaining accurate records and following procedures.
  • Self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to project communities across multiple regions.

  • Salary: This role sits on NM2 of ActionAid Ghana’s Salary Structure.
  • Duration: 2 years (fixed term).
  • Location: Accra with frequent visits to project communities.
  • Travel: Regular travel to regions where AAG operates.
