BE A STUDENT IN CANADA AND STILL GET A JOB AS A TEACHING ASSISTANT

Canada receives at least 600,000 international students every year and is ranked the third preferred destination for international students in the world. International students prefer Canada because of the following reasons and other benefits.

WHY DO INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS PREFER CANADA?

  • Canada’s immigration system is friendly to international students. Students can work part-time and school full-time.
  • Canada makes it simple for students to enter the country’s labor market. With a well-defined postgraduate work permit (PGWP) students get to experience working abroad and gain exposure. One can eventually decide whether to stay or go home during this time.

In Canada, obtaining citizenship between 2-3 years after graduation or permanent residency within a year of graduation is made simpler. A clear path and an average of 3–5 years are needed to become a Canadian citizen.

  • Canada provides a handful of visas for both local and international students. These visas have their funding as a mix of both federal and provincial. The types of scholarships include undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral, and post-doctoral scholarships, awards, and bursaries.

BENEFITS FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS IN CANADA

Masters and Ph.D. students in Canada are eligible for employment contracts as Teaching Assistants and Research Assistants during their studies. These contracts can be extended even after graduating as a fulltime employment career or profession.

These employments go a long way toward giving international students extra money to help with living expenses.

REQUIREMENT FOR ADMISSION INTO CANADIAN UNIVERSITIES

Although all schools in Canada provide great teaching experience, gaining admission into some of them may be very competitive. Schools are categorized into tiers and they all present with their admission or funding competitiveness.

Most Top tier Canadian universities require First Class. Although these universities have a high acceptance rate, it will be difficult to get in with a second class lower.

APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION TO A CANADIAN UNIVERSITY: STEPS TO TAKE
