POSITION: Senior Accountant

Summary of Role
- The Accountant is anticipated to assist the business in all finance-related and operational issues and will provide essential support to the Finance Lead. This position is crucial for assisting the Finance Lead and serving as a strong backup.
- The Senior Accountant will deliver financial insights to management through research and analysis of accounting information and by creating reports. This position is located in Accra, Ghana.
Duties and Responsibilities
Accounting and Financial Reporting
- Making certain that all financial transactions are documented according to relevant GAAP and company guidelines.
- Validates financial transactions through document examination.
- Gathers information to summarize the current financial status; creates balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and additional reports.
- Create reports on the monthly results in relation to the previous month and the budget; Year-to-date performance against the YTD budget and last year.
- Guarantee thorough reconciliation of every balance sheet account, which encompasses: Cash reconciliation, Payables aging (including vendor credit balances), Receivables aging (including customer credit balances), Inventory aging, PPE transactions, Employee accounts (travel advances, amounts due from employees, etc.)
- Generates specific financial reports by gathering, examining, and condensing account data and patterns.
- Protect financial data by performing database backups.
Management of Tax Matters and Audits
- Oversee Tax Matters and Audits.
- Make sure that all tax returns are filed punctually as required, along with the lowest tax due.
- Guarantee the prompt submission of annual audited year-end packages.
- Unblemished audit reports and positive internal audit findings.
- Make sure that internal and external audits are conducted efficiently at the lowest possible cost.
Cash Management
- Maintains an ideal amount of cash in the bank.
- Oversees and regulates the movement of cash income and expenditures.
Supplier and Inventory Oversight
- Manages vendor onboarding procedures and payment processing.
- Oversee and record all incoming and outgoing inventory.
- Issues purchase orders to suppliers.
- Serves as a liaison for vendor-related concerns.
- Processes payments by validating documentation and asking for disbursements.
- Guarantees prompt delivery of vendor withholding tax certificates.
Gestión de CAPEX
- Oversees CAPEX spending and guarantees proper documentation and reporting.
- Oversees the yearly asset management procedures, including validation.
Management of Billing and Receivables
- Analyzes aging reports and provides guidance on aligning payments with invoices.
- Guarantees proper implementation of payments, deductions, credits, etc., and revises withholding tax calculations.
- Guarantees compliance with CSquared’s collections.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance, and must qualify as an accountant (CA/ACCA/CIMA).
- Over 5 years of pertinent experience in financial management and reporting.
- Practical knowledge in IFRS and OHADA reporting.
- Expertise in ODOO ERP financial management software.
- Exhibits high-level abilities in accounting, corporate finance, and reporting
- The capability to show precision and adhere to deadlines.
- Demonstrates outstanding communication and collaboration abilities.
- Familiar with the overarching regulatory standards of the telecommunications industry.
- Exhibits outstanding organizational abilities and the capacity to execute various complex tasks.
- Proficiency in French is an additional benefit
