POSITION: Accountant

ActionAid Ghana (AAG) is a non-profit organization officially recognized in Ghana as a National NGO and has been operating in the nation since 1990. AAG is part of the ActionAid International Federation as its initial Southern Affiliate program, committed to human rights, social justice, and poverty alleviation. AAG’s strategic initiatives emphasize gender parity, youth empowerment, climate adaptability, and tackling disparities in underserved communities.

By employing this strategy, AAG collaborates with the active involvement of individuals experiencing poverty and their communities, social movements, and grassroots organizations to safeguard and advocate for their rights; enhance their resilience against poverty and climate change; and guarantee the fair distribution of resources and power. AAG operates in 11 of the 16 administrative regions in Ghana. These include: Upper East, Upper West, Northern, Savannah, Northeast, Brong Ahafo, Bono East, Ahafo, Volta, Oti, and Greater Accra Regions.

Position Overview

• Compensation: This position falls under SM3 of ActionAid Ghana’s Salary Framework
• Role location: Sunyani, Bono Ahafo Region

Role Summary

The Accountant will be tasked with delivering accounting services to the Bono Ahafo Regional Programme and assisting with various financial management activities in accordance with organizational policies. He/she would, among other duties, assist with the audit of the regional programme, track the implementation of audit recommendations, and oversee the overall financial management of projects carried out in the region.

Educational Background & Professional Experience

• The Applicant must possess a minimum of a Master’s degree in Accounting or Finance or an equivalent qualification, along with three (3) years of professional experience.
• Moreover, belonging to a recognized professional accounting organization (ACCA, CIMA, ICA, CPA) and having experience in the development sector will be beneficial.

Employment Conditions

This is a renewable employment contract for three (3) years based on national terms and conditions.
