POSITION: Field Service Technician

We seek a skilled Engine Field Service Technician to join our team, focusing on Services, Maintenance, and Diagnostics for our Distribution Business Unit in New Abirem, Ghana.
In this position, you will influence in the following manners:
- Provide Dependable On-Site Repairs: By identifying and executing simpler engine repairs at client locations, you will guarantee reduced downtime and uphold customer confidence in the quality of the company’s services
- Enhance Customer Satisfaction: Your polite and professional interactions with clients will foster strong relationships and enhance the company’s reputation for delivering outstanding service.
- Guarantee Effective Service Delivery: By utilizing specialized instruments and adhering to established protocols, you’ll optimize repair processes, minimizing mistakes and enhancing turnaround time.
- Ensure Equipment Durability: Carrying out preventative maintenance as per schedules aids in prolonging the lifespan of engines and parts, protecting customers from expensive failures.
- Foster Team Cooperation: By referring unresolved problems to senior techs or supervisors, you’ll aid in a collaborative solution-seeking atmosphere and guarantee superior results
- Promote Ongoing Enhancement: Ensuring precise documentation and recognizing extra service prospects will aid in enhancing service tracking, warranty management, and customer satisfaction.
- Maintain Safety and Compliance: Your compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental policies guarantees a secure workplace for you, your team, and the client.
DUTIES
To thrive in this position, you will require the following:
- Valid Driver’s License & Flexibility for Field Work: You should be capable of operating service vehicles and be ready to address emergency breakdowns, including calls outside regular hours, providing quick assistance to clients in urgent situations.
- Robust Electrical Bias & Technical Knowledge: Skill in handling gensets and Power Command controls is crucial. A strong grasp of electrical systems is essential for effectively diagnosing and repairing faults.
- Expertise in Diagnostic Tools & Software: You must be adept at utilizing electronic service tools to analyze problems, understand outcomes, and decide on suitable service measures—guaranteeing precise and effective repairs.
- Systems-Level Understanding & Mechanical Expertise:Success in this position necessitates the capacity to evaluate interactions among engine systems (cooling, fuel, exhaust, etc.) and utilize service manuals and metrics to execute high-standard repairs and maintenance.
REQUIREMENTS
Instruction/ Background
- Apprentice Engine Technician with training (Preferred).
- Technical diploma from pertinent vocational school.
- Regionally accepted driving license.
- Fundamental experience in field service work.
- Moderate understanding of and/or experience with engine products.
- Experience in customer service.
- This role might necessitate obtaining licenses to adhere to export controls or sanctions rules
