POSITION: Regulatory & Scientific Affairs Officer

Position Summary
Revna Biosciences is looking for an energetic expert to fill the position of Regulatory & Scientific Affairs Officer. This person will manage quality control, assurance, and enhancement in clinical, environmental, and laboratory testing. This position entails creating, assessing, executing, and articulating quality procedures, while ensuring adherence to national and international regulatory and accreditation organizations like the FDA, HEFRA, ISO, among others. The Officer collaborates closely with the Regulatory & Scientific Affairs Liaison to offer strategic advice and support on quality-related issues.
Job Responsibilities
- Guarantee adherence to laboratory accreditation, regulatory standards, and information management policies by offering direction to staff, ensuring that quality policies, processes, and procedures are implemented, up-to-date, and followed by all Clinical personnel.
- Manage internal audit procedures, external evaluations, skill testing programs, document management systems, competency evaluations, training, and additional quality procedures.
- Advise on optimal strategies to sustain and enhance project results or laboratory operations; supports activities aimed at laboratory enhancement.
- Examine data, detect patterns, oversee the prevention and rectification of quality variances, and produce reports for management by leveraging technical expertise and experience throughout all divisions.
- Track, alongside the Data Scientist, customer satisfaction and performance indicators.
- Detect and inform management of quality concerns and issues throughout departments, along with suggestions for solutions.
- Collaborate with the RevnaBio team to synchronize quality practices, which encompass data analysis, trend monitoring, prevention, correction, and ongoing quality enhancement
- Management of Quality, Systems, Compliance, and Regulatory Standards
- Verify that laboratory staff and equipment comply with performance criteria
- Guarantee that operational procedures align with organizational standards by implementing workflow processes or creating method validation and performance verification processes and procedures.
- Make certain there is a robust system to oversee and handle documents and records.
- Establish and guarantee that protocols and methods are established for identifying and handling nonconforming incidents, along with conducting internal audits and external evaluations.
- Create and guarantee systems for ongoing quality enhancement.
- Adhere to regulations and guidelines related to laboratory testing, guaranteeing staff adherence and assessing method validation and performance verification outcomes.
Laboratory Practices
- Show expertise and abilities concerning the scientific and technical aspects of laboratory testing to manage the policies, processes, and procedures associated with QA activities.
Communication
- Utilize structured verbal and written communication techniques, exhibit attentive listening abilities, and show understanding of written materials and instructions.
- Maintain professionalism and adherence to standards in communication while creating formal written reports and delivering oral presentations.
Ethics
- Maintain ethical standards in both professional and scientific realms
- Act as an example of honesty and moral behaviour.
Required Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or a related discipline (e.g., medical laboratory sciences, microbiology, biochemistry, molecular biology, immunology, quality control).
- At least 3 years of recent relevant work experience in a certified clinical, public health, or environmental laboratory (e.g., FDA, HEFRA, ISO, EPA).
- Proficient understanding of quality management frameworks and quality enhancement methods and strategies like Six Sigma or Lean.
- Familiarity with accreditation criteria, procedures, and protocols is adequate to counsel and support laboratory leaders and supervisors as they establish and uphold accreditation.
- Proficient understanding of computer and analytical software tools adequate for assessing electronic data, interpreting data, and developing reports.
- A solid grasp of the fundamentals, methods, and strategies related to the different analytical domains of the lab and other divisions.
- Outstanding organizational abilities enabling the management of diverse QA tasks.
- Skill in evaluating and understanding written information and scientific data, assessing it against set standards, recognizing possible inconsistencies, and proposing enhancements.
- Capability to perform and present quality assurance audits and evaluations to assess compliance status and suggest corrective action strategies.
