POSITION: Supply Chain Project Excellence Manager

The Project Excellence Manager will manage process standardization, develop reporting metrics, enable systems, and enhance the overall efficiency of warehousing, vendor, and logistical operations for the Supply Chain Team in Ghana.

What you will be engaging in:

Project Coordination:

  • Making certain that the pre-scope project plan is conveyed to and established with project stakeholders, along with their specific responsibilities.
  • Co-managing quality actions to achieve quality goals. Overseeing project risks, challenges, and change management, conveying the effects on the project.
  • Executing or aiding in post-implementation evaluations and recognizing any insights gained.
  • Incorporating carry-forward items into the program plan

Business Analytics:

  • Offering knowledge in comprehending and applying Jumia Supply Chain data models and systems, and serving as a resource in the analysis and utilization of data produced and used by BI Tools users.
  • Establishing KPIs and implementing straightforward systems for measuring performance and growth; automating data gathering and performance tracking to the greatest extent feasible.
  • Creating a detailed dashboard utilizing advanced Excel techniques to pinpoint bottleneck zones in operational processes.
  • Employing Order life analysis to oversee comprehensive warehouse/logistics workflows to enhance operational effectiveness.

Service Inquiry:

  • Enhancing and refining both new and current procedures for addressing customer and vendor concerns.
  • Addressing all escalated problems comprehensively throughout the Supply Chain.
  • Delegating all issues related to non-compliance to the respective defaulting departments and confirming that appropriate measures are implemented.
  • Overseeing all logistics issues related to emergencies that might result in customer dissatisfaction. Theft, accidents, package seizures & weather interference.
  • Communicating and collaborating with internal and external teams to address identified issues.
  • Assessing and recording all customer/seller grievances to avert the recurrence of previous issues.

Control of Processes:

  • Accountable for any discrepancies in packages and all exception management for packages, both in transit and at various hubs.
  • Overseeing the loss compliance and write-off policies for packages trapped at various points in their journey.
  • Training all internal and external teams on new and existing processes to ensure smooth operations.
  • Evaluating SOPs against real-world procedures and addressing shortcomings.

Queue Oversight:

  • Guaranteeing the prompt scanning at every leg and updating systems for movement as a transferable unit.
  • Observing the queues to detect irregularities, thereby enhancing performance.
  • Monitoring daily reports on incidents, changes, problem tickets, and SLA status.
  • Revising the incident classification matrix in accordance with increasing business intricacy.
  • Main Contact for comprehensive package/item management by the Jumia Ghana Supply Chain team.

What we seek:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized university; Degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Email, Internet, and more.
  • Skilled in Google Office Suite – Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Docs, Gmail, and more.
  • At least 8 years of combined experience in supply chain, operations, and/or vendor management is necessary, preferably in distribution, transportation, or customer service operations.
  • Proven achievement in executing global projects/programs across various functions.
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized, and focused on processes.
  • Outstanding analytical skills (with strong expertise in MS Excel); capability to transform analytical findings into practical reporting and actionable plans.
  • A strong understanding of the logistical operations in the local market is an advantage.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, capable of conveying intricate information to varied audiences and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams
