Lancaster University Ghana is looking to hire a new Academic Director.
Position Summary
- This new position will oversee all Academic Faculty and academic-related personnel and will act as the Deputy Chief Academic Officer for LUG.
- The position is essential for upholding academic integrity, promoting research quality, and improving the student learning experience at LUG.
- The chosen individual will establish connections with Lancaster University UK, businesses, government bodies, and other educational institutions to enhance the promotion and growth of LUG, as well as secure scholarships, research collaborations, guest lecturers, and industry initiatives for students and graduates.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- A obtained a Doctorate in their field of specialization and pertinent to one of the institutions at LUG.
- Academic qualifications appropriate for the position of Professor, evidenced by a notable history of teaching, scholarly writings, and/or creative achievements that reflect dedication to academic excellence.
- Preferred work experience of at least 15 years
- Background in Transnational Education experience
- Knowledge and familiarity with the higher education sector in Ghana and West Africa, or relevant experience in other developing markets, will be taken into account.
- Background as a senior academic administrator at the Dean/Deputy Dean level or higher in a reputable university, overseeing graduate and undergraduate programs, including accountability for budget management, staff recruitment, and performance assessment.
- Demonstrated skill in enhancing research capabilities and applying for research funding.
- Demonstrated capacity to engage productively and cooperatively with university administration, faculty, students, staff, and various stakeholder groups and partners, both within and beyond the university and outside Ghana.
