POSITION: Registrar
Tenure
- The Registrar is engaged under a contract for a duration of 5 years, which can be renewed for up to 2 more years.
Responsibilities
- The Registrar acts as the Chief Executive Officer of the Council, offering administrative guidance, supervising policy execution, and guaranteeing the successful fulfillment of WAEC’s mission throughout the member nations.
Necessary Skills & Abilities
- Outstanding leadership and communication abilities, with the skill to guide any evaluation operations sectors.
- Comprehensive insight into the council’s functions and administration.
- Comprehensive understanding of the education sector in member nations, encompassing examination frameworks and evaluation techniques.
- Capability to create and execute long-term strategic plans that are in harmony with the council’s mission and vision.
- Proactive, open to embracing cutting-edge technologies and methods in evaluations and assessments.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university (not lower than Second-Class Lower Division or its equivalent).
- Holding a Master’s Degree in Educational Measurement and Evaluation or Educational Administration will provide an additional benefit.
Experience
- Extensive training and professional experience in administration, ideally in an educational environment.
- At least 15 years of pertinent post-qualification experience, with a minimum of 6 years in a managerial or leadership role within a similar testing or assessment organization.
- Must presently occupy a role that is below the level of Director or its equivalent.
- Serving Officers of the Council must have a rank of at least Deputy Registrar.
- Age Restriction: Candidates should be no older than 58 years when they begin their responsibilities.
