1. Director of Nursing Services.
Overview of Responsibilities/Tasks
This position entails leading and guiding nursing and midwifery personnel, maintaining high practice standards, and providing expert advice on nursing/midwifery issues. The Director will supervise the management of professional practice, oversee activities, assist with research, and create/execute policies within the hospital.
Key Responsibilities and Tasks consist of
- Establishing and assessing practice standards for nursing/midwifery under the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
- Supporting and overseeing quality assurance processes
- Guiding staffing requirements and guaranteeing fair allocation of staff.
- Assessing and analysing performance, offering guidance and support.
- Formulating and executing policies, distributing information, and organizing recruitment/succession.
- Promoting employee well-being and assisting in research, development, and strategic planning.
- Providing regular updates to the Chief Executive
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Nurse or Midwife with a postgraduate qualification (Master’s degree) and registered with the Professional and Midwifery Council of Ghana.
- At least one year as Chief Nursing Officer or a minimum of 3 years of experience as Deputy Chief Nursing Officer.
- Proof of leadership, ongoing professional development, and training in management skills.
2. Director of Allied Health
Overview of Responsibilities/Tasks
This position entails offering guidance, strategic planning, coordination, oversight, and specialized professional advice regarding Allied Health Services to KATH management. It also involves overseeing and coordinating the research and training of specialist and postgraduate Allied Health professionals in partnership with accredited institutions.
Key Responsibilities and Duties encompass
- Managing and overseeing the creation of short, medium, and long-term strategies and budgets for Allied Health Services.
- Then, creating and executing frameworks for compliance with Allied Health Science regulations and infection management.
- Also, assisting, overseeing, and assessing initiatives and projects to enhance the effectiveness of clinical care.
- Creating systems to evaluate interventions, funding, and distribution of resources
- Directing the creation and administration of healthcare information systems
- Designing and executing clinical care field initiatives, guaranteeing efficiency and longevity.
- Overseeing technical assistance for Allied Health Services operations and program execution collaborators.
- Guaranteeing the creation and implementation of systems for support, monitoring, and evaluation.
- Achieving strategic objectives by overseeing and guiding Allied Health Services
Required Qualifications & Experience
- A minimum of a Master’s degree in Allied Health Science, with an undergraduate degree in a pertinent Allied Health discipline from an accredited University.
- Should possess a speciality in Allied Health Science and maintain good standing with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Ghana.
- An advanced degree in the main profession or a credential in health management or administration.
- At least 10 years of experience as an Allied Health Professional in the healthcare field, including a minimum of 5 years in a managerial position.
- Should hold a position of at least Deputy Chief/Deputy Director Grade at the moment of application.
- A minimum of a certification in Health Leadership and Management or Public Administration, or its equivalent
- Proof of leadership and ongoing professional growth
