Job Title: Quality Assurance Manager

Role Summary

We are looking for a dedicated Quality Assurance (QA) Manager to lead our hospital’s Quality Management System (QMS). This senior role is central to ensuring patient safety, regulatory compliance, and systematic improvement across all clinical and operational processes. The QA Manager will report directly to the CEO/Hospital Manager and will serve as a key driver of clinical governance and excellence.

Key Responsibilities

As the QA Manager, you will have a comprehensive and impactful mandate. Your core duties will include:

First, you will develop, implement, and maintain robust hospital-wide quality policies, procedures, and performance standards.
You will ensure full compliance with Ghana Health Service (GHS) regulations, relevant ISO standards, and all applicable local health laws.
A critical responsibility involves conducting regular internal audits and supervising thorough clinical documentation reviews.
Furthermore, you will lead quality improvement projects and clinical governance initiatives to elevate care standards.
You will also facilitate detailed root cause analysis (RCA) for all reported incidents and adverse events to prevent recurrence.
Additionally, you will manage the hospital’s risk management framework and prepare comprehensive quality reports for senior management.
Finally, you will train and mentor staff on quality assurance principles, actively promoting a consistent, patient-centered culture.

Job Criteria & Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong clinical or quality management background:

A Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare field such as Nursing, Public Health, Healthcare Management, Medical Laboratory Science, or in Engineering.
A postgraduate degree or professional certification in Quality Management (e.g., ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor) is highly preferred.
A minimum of five years of direct experience in quality assurance, risk management, or clinical governance within a hospital setting.
Strong working knowledge of healthcare quality frameworks, ISO standards, and methodologies like Lean, Six Sigma, and RCA.
Proven proficiency in data analysis, auditing techniques, and professional report writing.
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Location: Accra
