Job Title: Monitoring & Evaluation Officer – Neglected Tropical Diseases

We are seeking an experienced Monitoring & Evaluation Officer to drive data excellence in our “Sustaining Gains in Elimination of NTDs in Ghana” project. This role represents a vital opportunity to contribute to lasting health impact while working alongside government partners and communities.

Key Responsibilities

M&E System Design and Implementation:

  • Lead the development and validation of comprehensive M&E frameworks and project logframes
  • Establish robust performance indicators aligned with donor requirements and national health systems
  • Design and manage project-level information management systems and databases
  • Integrate gender, equity, and social inclusion indicators across all monitoring activities
  • Provide technical guidance and capacity building to program staff and partners on M&E methodologies

Data Management and Quality Assurance:

  • Coordinate routine data collection, verification, and consolidation from multiple administrative levels
  • Lead field monitoring visits, supportive supervision, and regular data quality audits
  • Oversee the scale-up of digital health tools including integrated home visit registers
  • Manage dynamic indicator tracking systems and performance dashboards
  • Conduct systematic data quality assessments and implement improvement strategies

Evaluation and Knowledge Management:

  • Design and implement baseline, midline, and endline surveys
  • Support the development of academic publications and evidence-based briefs
  • Document compelling success stories, case studies, and learning briefs
  • Facilitate quarterly reflection sessions to integrate learning into program adaptation

Reporting and Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Prepare comprehensive M&E reports for donors, government partners, and organizational leadership
  • Represent project achievements during stakeholder meetings and national health events
  • Collaborate with communications teams to develop engaging content for various media platforms
  • Create professional presentations that effectively communicate program results

Your Profile and Qualifications

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Statistics, Development Studies, or related field
  • Minimum three years of M&E experience in health programming or NGO contexts
  • Demonstrated expertise in developing M&E systems, tools, and indicator frameworks
  • Proficiency in DHIMS2/e-Tracker and digital data collection platforms like CommCare or KoboToolbox
  • Experience conducting health surveys and implementing data quality assurance protocols
  • Strong analytical capabilities and exceptional report writing skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within tight deadlines
  • Fluency in written and verbal English communication

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master of Public Health (MPH) or related advanced degree
  • Previous experience working with the Ghana Health Service or NTD programs
  • Knowledge of MEAL frameworks and evidence generation methodologies
  • Familiarity with donor-funded health project requirements

Work Environment:

  • Based in Accra with approximately 20% travel to project regions
  • Must be willing to visit rural districts and community health zones
