Job Title: Contracts Advisor

We are now seeking a dynamic Contracts Advisor to join our Operational Procurement team in Accra on a permanent basis. This role offers a unique opportunity to manage critical contracts and contribute directly to our operational success.

The Role

As a Contracts Advisor, you will provide essential Contracts & Procurement (C&P) support to our Business Unit. Your expertise will ensure the effective management of Operations & Maintenance, Logistics & Materials, and Subsea contracts. You will serve as the C&P subject matter expert, guiding the full contract lifecycle from initial strategy to post-award management.

Key Responsibilities

Your role will encompass three primary areas of focus:

Strategy Development:

Analyze the annual business plan to forecast demand and identify key priorities.
Evaluate spend data and supplier landscapes to uncover value optimization opportunities.
Develop comprehensive contract strategies that balance EHS, technical, commercial, and local content requirements.

Sourcing and Tendering:

Execute end-to-end tender processes, including requests, evaluations, negotiations, and supplier due diligence.
Integrate Local Content requirements seamlessly into all sourcing activities.
Draft robust contracts and ensure proper documentation storage in line with company policy.

Stakeholder and Contract Management:

Manage post-award contractor performance to ensure full compliance with contractual obligations.
Oversee contract renewals and closures while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
Foster sustainable long-term relationships with key suppliers and identify synergy opportunities across the business.

Your Profile and Qualifications

Essential Experience:

Proven experience in sourcing, contracting, and negotiation within the energy or extractive industries.
Strong understanding of complex international supply chains and significant commercial issues.
Demonstrated skill in negotiating both simple and complex contracts.
Experience working within joint venture or production sharing environments.

Education and Skills:

A relevant university degree; a CIPS certification or MBA is highly preferred.
Expertise in formulating and evaluating complex contractual agreements.
Superior problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities.
Advanced English language and numeracy skills, coupled with high proficiency in MS Office.
