We now seek an accomplished Marine Engineer to join our Ghana Offshore Business unit. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to ensure technical excellence and integrity for our FPSO marine systems while working within our dynamic onshore-offshore operational model.
Role Overview
As a Marine Engineer, you will serve as the onshore Subject Matter Expert for all FPSO marine systems, providing comprehensive technical assurance and planning support. You will maintain Class compliance while optimizing safety, reliability, and cost efficiency throughout the asset lifecycle. This position requires balancing office-based engineering with periodic offshore supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Assurance
- Provide expert guidance on hull, structure, ballast, cargo, and mooring systems
- Develop detailed work packs for repair campaigns and maintenance activities
- Lead root cause analyses for marine system failures and implement corrective actions
- Maintain direct liaison with Classification Society representatives
Operations & Maintenance Excellence
- Ensure all marine activities align with Class requirements and Integrity Activity Plans
- Supervise critical tank cleaning, inspection, and repair campaigns offshore when required
- Manage CMMS data entry, tracking, and closure for all marine maintenance work
- Review inspection reports and analyze data trends to inform decision-making
Continuous Improvement & Compliance
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and reliability enhancements across marine systems
- Lead marine-related Management of Change processes with engineering contractors
- Ensure strict adherence to EHS requirements, OCIMF standards, and statutory regulations
- Support verification activities and internal audits for marine systems
Qualifications and Experience
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture
- Minimum 5 years’ marine engineering experience in FPSO or tanker operations
- Comprehensive knowledge of Class, Flag, and statutory survey requirements
- Proven experience with CMMS platforms and inspection management tools
- Offshore operational experience and valid survival certification
- Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Class 1 Marine Engineer Certificate of Competency
- Formal certification in inspection or integrity management
- Demonstrated expertise in OCIMF, IMO, and SOLAS standards
