Job Description

The Accra Country Office is expanding its operations, creating an exciting opportunity for a skilled Program Assistant to join our dynamic team.
This role sits at the heart of our Country Management Unit, providing essential operational and administrative support. You will work closely with diverse teams to ensure the smooth execution of our development work program in Ghana.
Key Responsibilities
Your role will be multifaceted, requiring strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Key duties include:
- Providing comprehensive support for the implementation of the unit’s work program, including specialized tasks in procurement, database management, and knowledge management.
- Coordinating extensively with World Bank Group units worldwide and liaising with external counterparts.
- Interpreting and applying existing operational procedures independently to resolve diverse issues.
- Drafting and translating standard documents in English, demonstrating excellent proofreading and grammar skills.
- Managing project timelines using appropriate software and monitoring task budgets and trust funds.
- Organizing logistics for conferences, workshops, and missions, including travel arrangements and event planning.
- Maintaining current distribution lists, project files, and documentation systems.
- Attending meetings, drafting minutes, and ensuring the timely distribution of materials.
- Mentoring less experienced staff and undertaking special assignments as required.
Selection Criteria
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with at least four years of relevant experience.
- Prior administrative experience in multinational or international organizations is preferred.
- Professional proficiency in English (verbal and written), with exceptional drafting and editing capabilities.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Strong organizational skills and effective time management abilities.

- Ability to produce high-quality work under pressure with minimal supervision.
